That does make them more noisy in the quiet scenes, though.

The motor driven one is less transparent, which is good.
When you have twenty watts behind one, a lot of laser gets through.
At least that was my experience, with one of the first installs.

Granted its noisy, but sound technology has came a long, long, way since 1990.

Whahaha well guys. I was borrowed today so thought well let's do a test or something. Got a PVC pipe and closed it on one end. I had some hose laying around so attached it to the pipe and a pump from my neighbor. With a saw I made a cut where the water has to come out. But the hose was to flexible so it had a stutter output and the pump wasn't building pressure when the output got narrow. Do know now that I need al lot more power from the pump and have to switch to a metal nozzle if I want more height .

I can help you with renting such waterscreen, It makes no sense so buy allot of stuff only for one show a year.

Looks like you're not getting anywhere near the pressure you need to get a good spray surface. A clear laminar sheet of water is something you do NOT need, since it will just pass the video/laser through without making it visible.

Can you humour me and hook that nozzle up to a high pressure cleaning pump ('hogedrukreiniger')? You don't need loads of flow, but you need considerable pressure. So narrow feed lines and fine nozzles are no problem.

I know that's not enough pressure but I was interested what it will do. Hooking up an high pressure cleaner is a good idea to see what it does. I hope the pressure won't destroy the pvc pipe or the hose
I was searching the internet for a pump that pumps 1 or 2 litre a second at around 5 bar. Hydrofoor pumps will do the trick I guess. Don't know if jet pumps can hold the pressure right. (something like this: http://www.adr-spierings.nl/machineh...omp/pedrol.htm they say they do 4,6 bar but on what conditions? Have to ask an expert for that)

I got a friend that had a machine to work with metal. We are now looking for the right nozzle. Making something like the method on the youtube film or something that diffuse more like an jet nozzle shooting on a metal circle like so: =>-|

Don't know if I can make something that's does the job but like the way of experimenting and testing :P

Rizard, if you want to borrow my Karcher youre welcome, but i think for your project you need a serious pump!
Maybe you could ask a farmers "gierwagen" (dutch word for a workingmachine which sprays cowshit on the land) because that's what you want am i right?
Don't forget to ask him to clean it before using it

Whahaha well i'm not planning to project my laser on a spray of cowshit hahahha just kidding. I have something on hands to try. Maybe i'll do a test tonight. And yes I need a serious pump. Hope to get something that pumps 3 litre a second at 5 bar. Gues with a hydrofoor pump or a jet pump I can get enough power for a small water screen (about 3 metres high)
