Default CreativeLaserProductions, gratings, where to buy?

    Hi guys,

I've been doing some research on diffraction gratings and I've found the ones I want to buy.

    http://www.creativelaser.de/hardware...page_frame.htm

    http://www.spectrabeam.de/index.php?...Mirrors+Mounts

I've been looking at a few posts and recommendations on where to buy them but the chatter and posting trail goes could around 2008. Also Creative Laser Productions
website doesn't have any news updates after 2008.

I havent contacted anyone yet. I thought I'd ask the PL team for the best place to make enquiries with before I go on a long winded goose chase.

It appears www.spectrabeam.de is still currently selling them but the Poly-10 and a GWT-1-50c aren't available or not in stock.

I want to use a poly-10 up close to the scanners so I can do scan-through effects then send it through a rotating 50mm wide angle 6Deg grid grating. The poly-20 apertures are too small. I'm going to use Daves DMX servo daughter board to drop the assemblies in and out of the scan-field.

Any clues regarding current sources or any other info would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks Kit

The poly 10 is pretty tuff to scan through as well, the pie wedges are small.

I own both the poly 10 and poly20, you might want to try Fred at OSLS, I know he has had stock in the past.

Also I am writing some Audrino code right now to step the the poly 20 and 10 from ttl inputs. If you interested once complete i can pass it along.

I'd be very interested in the arduino project as well. I have several filter wheels, poly-20's, etc. that I want to incorporate into my lumia projector. Would like to use DMX control as well.

Has anyone tried the 6 transmission one, do you get a lumina type pattern when rotated or is it just static?

If the pattern moved it would be interesting to combine two on sliding mounts to align the various patterns

Hi John, thanks for the info. That is very helpfull. I'll have a chat with Fred and Amanda. How close did you get the Poly-10 Wheel to the scanners? I was prepared to machine a new scanner mount to allow clearance for the wheel so that it almost touches the mirrors. Also I am thinking of using an RC sail winch servo or similar as they can do 2.5 rotations and still have closed loop feedback.

The Audrino had crossed my mind too. I had a bit of luck driving rc servos a long long time ago with a basic stamp. Maybe it's time I "get with the program" and learn how to program this much more modern little gem.

I'm keen to see your progress. It really looks like youare going to town on the Lumina/gratings side of things, nice

Do you know the inner diameter of the gratings? I'd like to do a CAD mock up to see how the availible grating aperture of the Poly-10 overlays the scan field.

    Hey Troy,
I was a bit puzzled about how that one works too. I'm speculating that the gratings go across the wheel from left to right not radially so the relative orientation or the grating rotates as the wheel rotates.

I used a stepper motor real small one instead of the rc servo.

EDIT see you wanted inner, i'll measure once i dig em out. Currently have a pile due to getting ready for SELEM. The diameter of the grating is 50mm not real big at all.

    this is the poly20

i'll get a picture of the 10 later once i un pile it. but the effective scan area is only about 2.5 times as large if I recall. If you do the custom work as you mentioned I could see it working. I'll just gonna roll mine with beams, still pretty cool esp when stacked.

I had already started a thread somewhere on it once complete it will be bumped and shared with all. If DMX is wanted you'll have to edit my code or buy a DMX to TTL converter as I am only writing this for the TTL control I need
