    Default Fiske Planetarium

I had the pleasure to stop by the Fiske Planetarium in Boulder, CO for a Pink Floyd lasershow. I was expecting a rather typical show that you see in theaters these day. I was surprised that it ended up being a very old school style show. The abstracts and color modulation was stunning. Unfortunately, the Coherent Purelight appears to be rather high mileage and on it's last leg as the krypton lines were very weak compaired to the argon lines. The show was very well augmented by numerous theater effects common in a planetarium. The star projector was on for nearly the entire length of the show, raising and lowering a couple times for dramatic effect. I snapped a couple pics while there and thought they might be enjoyed here. I thought the laser glasses in a vending machine was a very cool idea!

How much were they selling the glasses for? And what was the ticket price to get in?

Cool looking abstract console there... Would be awesome to play with one for an afternoon!

Wow! When I graduated High School I managed to arrange a small internship at the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia.... I will never forget that LFI console... Your picture looks like the same one.... I would die to get my hands on one of them!

It was only $7 to get in and I didn't catch the price for the glasses on the vending machine. Probably a buck a pair. I may go back again tonight, they are running a Daft Punk laser show.

This is the reason I'll be on the road for about 30 hours before I get to SELEM next Thursday. Don't want to say much more otherwise I'll end up jinx'ing it! Not the same model, but I may have some questions for you! I don't see your name on the list for SELEM, what's up with that?!?! By the way, Happy Birthday!
