He PM-ed me to say that it would be Monday before he would have units ready to ship, but I knew I could trust him so I went ahead and paid in advance. (Come to think about it, I did the exact same thing last year with Rick Gebhardt when I ordered my original DT-40's and my Alphalite.) They're just cool like that. (I don't trust just anyone with advance payments like that!)
Yeah, I am usually very careful with my hard-earned money. Unfortunately there are a few rotten people in this industry, sadly a prime example comes to mind of a "sad sac" right here in Florida. Rick however, is absolutely a person you can trust in my opinion. I didn't think twice when Jian told me to send my payment to Rick. Just curious, did you get a power supply with the new setup? I wouldn't mind setting up both scan heads and doing a side by side compairison, though, if it doesn't come with a supply, then the old DT-40 will probably just get shelved...

Jian just sent mine out today, and Rick should have sent my Alphalite siftware out too. Let me know how they go, I know I can't wait to get mine. Going to see if I can purchase my laser tomorrow too :P

Finally got a few clips. They're cheapies from my camera. My co-worker seems to have lost my DV cable... I took some good ones in DV but have to wait to upload them. These have no sound and are of poor quality, but since I harrass anyone and everyone for movies, how can I not provide a few myself. Enjoy...

Need to switch connections... The ds3 on my work PC'll get these up much quicker...

    MUCH quicker...

    Not bad

What are the red traces on the video though?

Those are quite common, its entirely your video camera. Some of mine do that too, and others do not (I have 3 video cameras). It's nothing to be alarmed about; it's just the CCD trying to figure out what to do with such an intense light. The camera mine does that to is normally a photo digital camera, so it may be a quality factor too. Anyway, it's nothing to be worried about.

My DV and miniVHS camcorders don't pick this stuff up, but my still camera (in video mode) does.

Cool! IR is always a worry. I was really worried about my gbs 100 even though I could see a filter but could never get a picture of it like soem say I should so I figured it wasn't a problem Then something showed up on the lil video clips from this camera and I worried again.

Yeah, the bright vertical line thing is all too common with CCD cameras. If you've ever googled around for the term "sparkler bomb", you'll find a few videos that are cool to watch, but also display the same phenomenon. Basically any really bright light source against a dark background will cause the vertical line effect in an electronic camera. It sucks, but that's life.

And before you think that a sparkler bomb is some sort of improvised explosive device, let me clarify that it is nothing more than a shitload of sparklers - 1000 or better - that have been bundled together with wire and are set off all at once. It's not really a bomb at all - more like a flare. (Unless you are stupid and wap the whole mess in sheet metal or something... Then it might explode!)

    Dave:

I haven't even opened the box for the galvo's yet, so I don't know if a PSU is included or not. If not, I'm sure you could buy one for very little money though. (The psu has got to be the cheapest part of the galvo, amp, and psu combination.)

I hope to be able to play with them this weekend. I'll let you know!

You havent't opened them... Shitte man, I'd a taken the bitches to work! I got confirmation that my maxyzmod is going to be shipped and have a lead on a 50mW ttl green a red/green dichro, and some optic mounts pretty cheap. Almost there.

O... here's what I was excited about. I'm even more excited to see it in RGB.

Ok - you talked me into it. I just opened the package.

It's got the galvos and the amps. So if you do the upgrade and want to still use your old galvos you will need to buy a second mount and a power supply.

Fortunately, I already have a spare mount that I'm pretty sure will work for these size galvos, and a PSU is cheap. So I should be able to have two projectors running soon. (Be interesting to put them head to head and see the differences!)
