I won't be watching 'This' space as i'll be watching the closing ceremony
I hope the lasers show up a little better than in the opening ceremony.

Oh...someone forgot the FB3?
Yep, watched it... And.... NO lasers!!!!
Fantastic closing ceremony though. Not sure what the rest of the World thought to it though.
Definately British eccentricity at its best![]()

Fail. You almost sounded like you knew something others don't!
I only watched bits but was very unimpressed.
The opening ceremony was brilliant but I felt this was a bit of a let down from the bits I saw.

I watched all of it and didn't get to see the opening so I have nothing to compare it to but, yes, there were some British eccentricities and it was a bit underwhelming. Best part was the Monty Python bit and of course Brian May.There were a few parts where my mother and I figure a pint or two was consumed coming up with the ideas. I figure a producer must have SOME things sketched out on a cocktail napkin somewhere. And what's up with Bowie? He's not doing anything that I know of... I wonder why he doesn't show up for these things.
I also found it strange that a few underwhelming performers made you think The Who was about to come do their bit, and then didn't. Apparently they're playing the "after-party" which will be televised shortly. The sound quality was meh...throughout our coverage anyway. That woman that opened was way off key, George Michael seemed overpowered by the backing singers and the Spice Girls had a a few milliseconds of delay which made it boomy. I know they had less that 24 hours to transform the venue and do rehearsals and sound checks but, they still pulled off a good show though. Kudos though to London and Great Britan for pulling off a great Olympics. Appaerently no problems to speak of and I'm a tv junkie anytime the Olympics are on and the coverage was great.
