They can't give a price because they sell through distributors, who's prices may all be different

Yes prices are higher most likely and there is a reason for that. When its broken or needs replacement he will take care of that and so you don,t have to ship it back to china if its a laser, mount or something else. That is called service and service cost money. You pay more so you don,t need to worrie about anything.
