Pangolin LD2000 DMX control

I'm certain at one time I ran across a simple DMX console within the LD2000 program and now cannot find it. Searching the PL and the Pangolin forum turned up nada. Anybody seen or used this?

I think it's in the default directory of LD2000. I believe It's called QMX24.

It's a useful little utility. I use it for controlling my Unique Hazer. One slider for the fan and another for the haze output, works great.

Don't use it as much nowadays though as I'm using DMX cues in Beyond instead.

I am new to DMX and missed a workshop at SELEM. I have a pending message into P. re the control of DMX based moving heads from Beyond. What is needed as far as interface hardware and cabling? Any suggestions for controlling such heads, either live or as a pre-programed part of a show?

If you are using a Pangolin QM2000 board, then the DMX interface is supported directly on the card via an adapter cable. If you are an FB3/QS user, you will need an external DMX interface such as the Entec DMX USB Pro . This is being used by several PL members and is the recommended adapter (per Pangolin), if I understand correctly.

If you want to control more than just intelligent lights, you may find the DMX interfaces from Lasershowparts.com or Northlightdmx.com to be helpful as well. I've been using DMX cables from Hosa with good results.

For Beyond (regardless of the controller used) or QuickShow, you'll need one of these (although you may find it cheaper elsewhere):

If you plan to use the LD2000 apps, the built-in DMX port on the QM2000 card is supported.

NOTE:

Most DMX gear in the USA uses 3-pin (XLR) connectors.
You'll need to get a pair of 3-to-5 pin adapters so you can use the Enttec or Pangolin gear with the readily-available US DMX gear and cables.

DMX cues and sequences are VERY easy to create using the "QuickDMX" features in Beyond and QuickShow.
'Tis a bit more tedious when using the LD2000 suite...

Hi all. Does anyone know if beyond supports a fixture library and creator for dmx fixtures. i like how you have plenty of range in your steps but programing a group of intelligent light fixtures with all them faders looks like it could be a complete nightmare??? maybe thats just my view on it

would be great to see some more detailed dmx info for beyond. surely since pangolin now has phoenix which from memory has fixtures could easily include this. hmmm need to find some pounds to invest in beyond. its alot to invest in if it doesnt do what id like to with dmx. obviously not the only reason to bump up too beyond but at this moment and time for me a very good reason on making the jump....arhhhhh bread n butter diet here i come
