Reke 500RGB + Quickshow + scanner speeds
Complete Novice here.. but having fun. I have a question about the scanner speeds. The Reke500RGB specs seem to differ depending on where you are looking at the specs of the projector. When I set up Quickshow, I just set that the scanner speed at 10k which is what Reke's website current spec shows it to be. However, when adjusting the controls, the slider variable in Quickshow allows me to bring it up to 30k and it sure gives me a smoother picture. When I do that am I overclocking the scanner? I don't want to ruin my projector but I sure like the smoothness when it is set to 30k over 10k. I would assume if the scanner speed is 10, 15, or even 20k (which seems to be the different speeds I'm finding at different locations for this projector) it couldn't physically go past that, unless the software is allowing me to overclock it. Please advise

Yes, you are technically overdriving the scanners. With good quality scanners and at low angles, this is sometimes OK to overdrive them a little bit, but pushing cheap crap scanners to almost 20K over their rated speed is just asking for trouble, and you'll probably burn them out very quickly. Not to mention the scanned output, although less flickery, would look like complete junk.
