I've been working on this exact idea since May or so. I have a fully functioning prototype. Videos as soon as I can get my hands on multiple projectors. 1 or 2 isolated inputs equal to 2/5 outputs.

I preferred to keep it all in each projector. Less extra stuff to remember and clutter up back stage

ILDA to each projector + DMX between each projector VS 1 ILDA and 1 DMX to 1 splitter then just 1 ILDA to each projector. A separate box for DMX control would be more flexible and cheaper. Then, any projectors could then be added and controlled, not just the ones with the built in DMX board.

Sounds like its worth to start an open source version, one of those where everyone puts there input and somebody puts it together for the group.

Or will this be another round of feeding the forum with ideas so one person can take those ideas, come up with a product then sell it back to those who originated the ideas.

Just a post to find out if anyone has made any progress on this. I am not an electronics expert so have no idea where to start myself but, a box that offers x/y flip and laser on/off via dmx, who would not love to add that to there inventory?

    I have made a start.

Modular design which will allow additional channels by adding extra boards. Pretty much based upon my breakout board design.... Its only colour levels and buffering at this stage.. Not sure whether x and y flip is a bit out of scope..

Fiesta and moncha do this and I am sure quick show, livepro, phoenix can also, I would be surprised if any software that can be controlled with dmx could not do it as its usual basic functionality

Indeed, the software you mentioned can flip x/y but what I would love to do is to flip only one projector. To have just 1 DAC such as the FB3 and get your satellite projectors to mirror each other one minute then produce the same pattern just by setting a DMX channel, or have 3 projectors connected to 1 DAC producing a chase would be great.

Install the dac in the projector and you have exactly that.
