guys, check the gallery again, more pics! We have a show in a week with this thing.. we just need to finish the wiring, and fit the c-arm bracket to it somehow.

That is looking very swish, excellentjob.
I wish my metalwork was as neat as that.

Very nice kit! I love the design... I also see why you're looking for 10 cm x 10 cm AR coated windows... You've got a much larger aperature than I do on my projector.
How heavy is that whole rig? (My guess is that it's pretty hefty!)
Adam
its damn heavy
the original plan was going to be to use a big heatsink to mount EVERYTHING onto, ie it would be the "baseplate", but that would have meant usinug a heatsink that was over 40 kilos on its own.
The "guts" of hte laser are a bit heavy, and the showcase is a bit heavy, so put them together adn i guess you get something that will be just annoying enough to piss you off if you have to carry it up two flights of stairs

I bought one especially for doing my projector, Its more of a saw that saws in straight lines that I need
Jim
Jimbo...
How about a vertical band saw with a fence?
Yeah, I need to break down and buy a drill press one of these days. Saw one at Harbor Freight the other day that I really liked... It's like $240 or thereabouts, and the head telescopes out to give it a 28 inch reach. Perfect for driling and tapping a baseplate.

So we got hte projector fired up last night... and the colours all looked "washed out"...
we applied a red only signal - and it looked orange. There was bleed between the colours, and 1.5 hours later (and many lost hairs) dave figured out that it was because _somebody_ forgot to wire up the ground to the balanced line recievers...
We also thought we blew the colour outputs on the QM2000 for about 20 minutes too.... *phew*.
anyway we'll be giving it another shot in the next few nights, and pics will soon follow.
