Tetris is a very aggressively controlled property. I guess if I made a free version just for laser scanners they probably wouldn't care too much, although I'd be cautious with that one.

Thanks loopee, I'll drop Dave an email and see if he can help me out. Even if he doesn't sell them he might be able to act as a middle man on this once-off purchase. I'm in Canberra currently.

    Hi Murudai,

    Welcome to PL

Wow great to hear what you have in mind!
+1 for what Troy said. Dave will set you on the right path.

Keen to know where you are in a big mostly empty island.

Great to have someone with your skills and interests, join the gang.

    Good luck
    Kit

I've actually been on PL for over 4 years! But I spent most of my time on LPF, since laser pointers are a much cheaper way to get into lasers. This was before it was illegal to import laser pointers though, so when they introduced those new laws in 2008 and laser pointers became the hot new thing the police were cracking down on, my little hobby ended right there. I was keen on laser projectors, but I was just a poor Uni student at the time and couldn't afford the systems I wanted. Nor do I have the skills (or even the interest) to DIY a system. I'm more interested with what you can do with the light coming out the end, not where it comes from!

But now I'm back and I've actually got a good excuse to play with these expensive toys, since I can integrate them into my game development business as a promotional tool for conventions and other gaming events. Means I can write it off as a tax deductible expense too

Actually, I'm surprised no one's ever done space invaders.

Classic game and not too demanding graphically.

I wrote this overnight purely over TCP (EtherDream) about a month ago:

Currently I'm writing bindings in Python and Rust as well as a lightweight graphics engine. I'm going to code a Tetris clone just as soon as school gives me a chance to. Not too far down the road I want to leverage OpenGL and build a suite of linear algebra and quaternion tools, matrix stacks, and so forth.

I'd also like to do more "researchy" type stuff by mapping shows onto deformed surfaces and correcting for geometry or projection angle. And if anyone in the Atlanta area has a projector and would like to collaborate, I'd love to write algorithms to dispatch drawing to *two* projectors to improve scene complexity.

You can't do this with an FB3. This is only for an etherdream DAC.

suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.
