    Default Power Supply Help

    Hello all,

I have DT-30 galvos and I've seen threads about driving the galvos with 2 24V power supplies if they are ground isolated. The galvos need -24V, 0V, 24V to function so by connecting the + of one power supply to the - of the other power supply it should work. How do I tell if the power supplies are ground isolated? Specifically this one http://www.trcelectronics.com/Meanwell/nfm-20-24.shtml. Would this one work?

    Thanks!

It should work. I used these for another application recently http://www.allelectronics.com/make-a...-SUPPLY/1.html

As you mentioned in your post just tie the + from one power supply and the - from another. Those will act as your common ground. Hit me up if you have any other questions. Take a look at my diagram I made it using a 12V supply but the same principal applies for the 24V supply I have listed.

Thanks Ivan, I just wanted to make sure before I make the order. :P As for the connectors to it, do you know where I can buy the connector heads?

Not familiar with the DT connectors but i reckon they should be common. Where are you located?

suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.
