    Default AKAI APC40 and Beyond

Before I contact Pangolin, (since Beyond keeps being released with new updates) I want to check and see if a version of Beyond that's just a couple months old supports the Akai APC40? I just got one and was going to set everything up and mess with it but, wanted to see if I needed to download and install the lastest Beyond release first.

Yes it supports th Akai APC40.
On the pangolin forum you could download the necessary Beyond settings for the APC40.
Before you download be aware you need Beyond version 1.60 build 484 or higher to get it working, but the topic will explain how to get it.

O.k... not so fast. Gonna have to contact Aaron because it doesn't appear to be a working version. At least not yet.

Edit: Um, there might be some operator error on my part. Never mind.

Well... hopefully. Right now I can't seem to get Beyond to recognize the Akai inthe drop down box of midi devices. I'm using Windows XP so, I'm wondering if there isn't a driver or something I could be missing.

I think i know what happened.
It won't be recognized as a AKAI APC 40, only when you connect it the first time it will show the brand and version Akai APC 40, in the system settings you will see below Sound Game and Videocontrollers a USB AUDIO DEVICE.
    That's the Akai APC 40
Before running Beyond (you don't have to install any other version before, just copy the Beyond-APC version to your harddrive) turn on the APC40 and start Beyond.
When Beyond has started go to Settings - Midi Settings - Device settings and select in the Device 1 drop down menu for both input and output the USB Audio Device, followed by importing the script file.
    That should do the trick.
