    Ah... I completely missed the Pink Floyd references. (Doh!)

    Oh well - at least I figured out what the mystery laser was. 50 watts eh? What a monster! How long can you run it before it needs to be refurbed? (I thought I remember reading that a CVL was only good for a couple hundred hours or so before you had to refurb the tube.?.)

    about 300 hours on a load of copper. then you open the end of the tube and put in another load. as long as the tube doesn't melt down from lack of water flow, you are in buisness for many, many thousands of hours. however dont confuse this with the lower power copper bromide units people are using. i believe those only last around 800 hours.
