AVI or JPEGS into Quickshow

Hi,

I am trying to put either an AVI or a series of Jpegs into Pangolin Quickshow but I am having a hard time working out any way to do it. I have produced an animation in Google Sketchup and I can export it as either an AVI or as a series of JPEGS.
The problem is trying to put each JPEG into Quickshow - it only lets me use the Quick trace function.
I have looked into TraceIT but I am not sure whether it will work with Qucikshow or whether it needs LD2000. I have also downloaded and paid for ILD SOS but the author has not given me an activation key.


Any advice about this is welcome. Many thanks in advance.

Nice to see a new member that is on the content creation side, rather than on the content consumption side
Quickshows tracing is optimized for company logos and business cards.
Tracing an entire animation can be done, but is beyond its "intended use"

Bitmaps are best for tracing, so i suggest you convert the avi in a sequence of bmp's.
Use virtual dub, for example, that lets you crop the image and increase contrast too.

For best results run traceits output through ildsôs.

Thanks for your advice Bart. I outputted all the animation frames as Bitmaps then instead of using traceIT I went for the old fashioned way actually tracing 41 frames with a black pen.
I scanned the tracings then put them one-by one into Quickshow cues. Then I dragged each one into a timeline.

It works fairly well and gives quite a sketchy effect.

I have used scanned images of each frame of this attached video and put them through Quick Trace. It has come out a bit 'flashy' as the laser can't scan fast enough. Can anyone let me know how to adjust the settings on Quickshow to reduce the 'flashing' effect?

What is the frame rate displayed at the bottom right hand corner (you need the Fb3 connected to show this):




It could be the frames are too complex to display without flicker and need simplification.

Edit: I've just had a look at your avi video file, there's a lot of small detail on that car. You should probably remove some of it.
