Default Brightness knob + fan placement (help needed)

    Hey guys
I just recieved my green projectors from our favorite china supplier and im going to fix the small fails that was on arrival.
In one of the projectors the brightness potentiometer was mess up so i have to change that one, but the broken one is 100K Ohm, while the working one in the other projector is 20K Ohm. So what would the ideal restistance of that potentiometer be?

Another thing i notices is that they places the fan in quite an odd place, its behind the PSU to the 1W CNI head. Photo attached.
Im thinking of adding another fan to get better cooling but the box is quite full at the moment, however i think i can fit a fan behind the laser head.
Would this be enough to cool the galvo drivers located on the other side?
    Cheers

i would start by removing everything and putting them in a larger case. the way that green head is mounted makes me cringe.

suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.

Any idea why they would put the head like that? Its the same on both projectors.
Makes no sense at all to me.

to save money instead of using the proper sized case. everything is so crammed in there. it's hard for me to imagine being able to properly ventilate it.

where did these projectors come from?

I got them from Winni, she recommended me to use that case since the other would double up on the shipping costs

    i'm surprised!

do you see any weird distortion from not hitting those mirrors straight? at the very least, i would drop in a couple adjustable mirror mounts and remount the laser head.

It would definitely be better to add another fan for the XY drivers... but I doubt it would be a real problem to run it like it came, and if something did break because they didn't have enough air movement they would fix it asap for ya... but I dont understand how or why the green is mounted like that?????

nothing wierd except that the size on Y-axis is quite small, not sure if it has to do with the way the head is mounted or if the potentiometers has the wrong resistance..

    edit:
My fault on the y-axis, forgot to reset the geometric correction
They scan like a charm now
