    Hi Marc,
What sort of power did it used to produce? would be interesting to compare it then and now.I never had a chance to fire it up before I picked it up yesterday. Wes said that its working fine and was up and running only 2 years ago! Anyway it needs a bit of a service (at least). I may bring it round (just the laser) so you can cast your knowing eye over it. I need to know how to clean certain parts that have gone a bit black. Any idea where I can get the cooling part? Im also looking for somewhere to store it...

you bought it without seeing it running? hmmmmmmmm famous last words..."it worked at the shop" If it was up and running two years ago...I would go through it with a fine tooth comb for anything that touched the water...if it was not drained and dried properly prior to storage....well.....never mind....

No I wouldn't buy it without seeing it run, it was free. Yes I plan to got through it as best I can and I will then operate it for the first time with the guy who used to service it and operate it on shows. If you know anything particular about this type of laser that I should look out for -or if you know anyone who can help with the replacement item i need (see above), any advice would be welcome thanks Laserman.

re: cleaning, get a product called 'CLR' - http://www.jelmar.com/CLRbasic.htm - Don't know if they'll ship to the UK / if the UK customs'll 'let it in', but I'm sure some of the brethren over that-side of the pond, will know. Then, make sure you clean anything you cleaned with 'CLR' with pure, DI / distilled water, *especially* if you've cleaned anything inside the cavity, etc.. You don't want any of that 'residue' in the lamphouse, etc.. But, in any-case, clearly, the guy (Sire Marc) that used to 'service it', will know better than-I, so definitely listen to him before me..

re: the busted condenser (?).. I bet Lee will know.. I'd recommend going to the OEM - contact them / email that pic, and ask where you could source a replacement. Be sure to let them know you're not 'just down the street', as they likely would-suggest a 'RTB' (return to base) for service, which.. not very 'practical' for ya.

    Hope that helps..
    cheers..

Oh, I crewed on a show with one of those once.. Now that I see the pics I recognize it. Very large diameter beams.

the large beam is because the cavity design, the optical relay (often called z-fold) is far superior But i might be a bit prejudice
