Default EXCELLENT experience with my job Christmas party yesterday! WOW!

I was waiting for that event since i had finished my 1.8W new projector and i have to say that the party of yesterday night was a big succes!

I want to share that story because my goal was also to show that lasers can be also entertainment for some people that never really considered that.

Let me explain:Most of my 200 job mate that many are working in optical lab every days with various lab lasers equipment etc since many years, never known that other dimension of having lasersshow... ( lasers dancing with light.....) MOst of them just align, test and build optical stuff like me but i found that there is something missing!... All them hide these great beams with protective glass etc.. and they are right!.. but lasers are alot more interesting than scientific use!

Yesterday it was like 90% people stayed on the dancefloor until the party close!!! yes, we had a great DJ as well but i saw people enjoying touching laser beam in the air and they was impressed!

The dancefloor was like 40 x 30ft, we had a fog machine equipped with dry ice so the smoke was staying on the floor for few second until it heat and raise to meet the laser beams. THAT'S A NICE GREAT EFFECT !! Since many scientist job mate that was present too that might scare seeing 1.8W total of laser close to them, i decided to adjust the beam projection zone to keep the beams just above the head of the tallest person. so no danger of people complaining that lasers reach their eyes and it was the right decision, i had no complaint, just appreciation!.. but yes.. the top of the area was not so high and the graphic show was a little compressed on the vertical axis..

I used Quickshow to control my laser and it was a great tool and easy to work with.. the most difficult was using my mouse touch pad of that small 10.1" screen laptop. I also had prepared a great 300Megabyte QS Workspace with alot of presentations that i made but my hard drive crashed the last time i saved it due to too low memory and virtual memory and i lost everything... but i took few minutes to prepare a new workspace but alot less complete but it was good anyway and nobody noticed that anyway

I also confirmed that for beam show i will need to increase the power of my red, , actually a 637 of 170mW. but for the graphic show it was enough.

Overall i got alot of great comments and appreciations about that laser effect and i also think people do really love the fan beam and horizontal dot wave effect like me =)

now some persons at my work might never see their laser beam the same way as before

For some that might be curious about INO where i work, Here our website:
