Default I was wondering your opinions on this rgb laser setup off eb

    Hey all,

I am new hear and excited to find this board. I currently own a 1watt green laser and opperate it with Laserillusions software and scanners.

I am looking to buy a rgb laser for under 3,000.00 and think I found one that looks like a good deal. That is if it really is what they say it is.
Here is the link please tell me what you think or point me in a better direction. Your help and opinions are greatly appreciated.

Probably no I/R filters and looks like way too much green. A good balance is going to need a little more red than they advertise. Might be a good start but you may find yourself searching for more very soon after......my .02. Look on the forum here...I think Junktronix had one similar for sale.

It's also a TTL system so it's not possible to dim the lasers.
You know, I have one simple request. And that is to have sharks with frickin' laser beams attached to their heads!

IR is infrared, alot of manufacturers do not put IR filters on the output of the lasers and then quote the output that obviously includes IR.
As you cant see the IR you are effectively paying extra for nothing.
With the IR filters being missing the laser is also more dangerous because your eyes do not respond to the IR and think the beam is weaker, but the IR is just as liely t blind you as the visible laser is.
Always ask the seller if the laser has IR filters fitted and also if the output is certified.

Thanks all! ir got it. Good to know.
    ttl not dimable..ok

Is there then a concensis here that the average person would not be satisfied with the color output being that the green is perhaps to high and the red a bit weak?

    hmmm

Judging from the videos of this unit it look pretty balanced.

But like I said Im a newbie so I will leave these answers to the pros >>> you
    ; )

    thanks again

    Hi Matt, and welcome BTW

There are a few threads that have covered colour balance and it does really come down to what you are happy with, 7 colours look great whatever the balance.
If you check this thread there is a chart on it that shows what we class as a *good* combination, but once again it is down to choice.

Videos don't always tell the true story because of how the camera reproduces the colours.

nice chart... that gives some great perspective.

So perhaps I could just order a cheapie 50mw green beam and replace the 150mw green out of this setup?

That seems as though it would get it more into perspective...yes?

Thanks for the hello jimbo :!:

    This board is so friendly.
I wish I would have found you all a few months ago when I was stumbling my way through making my 1w beam show.
