Default TSO 2012 dec7 Question and a video

Went to TSO last night, looked like 5 RGB's in the setup. I dont get how legally they had them set when 3 of them were projecting between the upper and lower bowl facing. Anyone could have reached over the edge and touched beams if they were in the upper bowl. Two others were up in the rafters. It was safe, but didn't seem to follow regulations. thoughts

    Dang -

Looks like I'll miss them again this year...

    Thought-wise:
With all the lasers & pyros they use, I'm pretty sure everything they do is well within regs.
I imagine their tour gets a lot of attention from the feds & local authorities...

I usually try to get "center of mass" (near the remote "floating stage") when I go to their shows.
Lasers never bothered me, but the REST of the lighting is a bit much even for me at times!

    Not a complaint, however...

It's hard to tell from the video, but my guess is that they had 6 ft (2 meters) from the top of the railing around the upper bowl to the highest point on the facing where they were terminating the beams. That would put them in compliance.

There is another option too. They may have filed an amended show variance to state something to the effect that in cases where they have less than 2 meters of clearance, they simply rely on a series of human spotters who look for audience members trying to reach over the railing, and if they see this happening, they trigger a safety shutter on all the projectors. (Variances with language like this have been approved in the past.)
