I'm not gonna discuss this for ages, as i told Edison thinks he's is never wrong.
Ask around and everyone can tell how glad i was to learn from him
Problem is now he is trying to involve other people again in this discussion

    Stop doin that

Edison refused to sell me a mount (i had a broken one in a projector from him )
and i needed the profile for other purpose but he never gives information to others because he's afraid of something ?

note : all my projectors have different size than Edisons - i dont want any service on the modules from Edison i prefer others now

THE END i'm stopping this shit because i think it's a waste of time

Interesting post. [edit - Edison's, not vjernsts who snuck in whilst I was typing mine, but I don't want to qote the whole thing!]

I wonder, do the other module builders think the same way, or indeed encounter the same problems/issues?

I'm not sure I agree about there being no solution for red - there are more now than ever before.

Unfortunately they all have their trade-offs. Either too complex/expensive due to too many low power diodes being required to be combined, or single diodes that have less than ideal beam specs.

I used to run a 650nm red quite happily, until I got my 640's. The 650 problem is similar to the 638 issue.

You accept the compromises for what they are.

In my world, where I tend to use a safety lens anyway, having bigger beams or faster divergence don't matter quite so much [compared to some people's quest for 0.5mr and 2mm dia], so its an acceptable trade off. No use throwing a few extra hundred of £ of hardware and R&D at something I'm going to willfully f*ck up!!

You are using Bonetti's defense against me, ah?

I thought it fitting, considering the rocky terrain.

norty you may notice i dont do a lot of advertising on the forum, i dont post in every thread telling people i make and sell modules, cos that would just become annoying.

i like to let my modules do the talking.

ive been a forum member for many years, i know all the UKLM members, ive been to every one. UK members have been round my house and ive been round theirs. im not going anywhere soon, so if you get a problem with one of my modules just drop me a line and we can have a chat, its not a problem. if there is a problem with one of my modules im more than happy to take a look at it, just send it back.

so my modules, i build everything (subject to mirror mounts) out of aluminium as its good for heat sinking, im not a big fan of brass. i dont use tec's, as the diodes dont really need them. some single mode diodes do require a tec as they have to be kepy at certain temps. run one of my dual 445 modules on full power and it generates very very little heat. mount it to a good base plate and you wont have any problems.

i use badpips drivers in all ym modules, so good modulation and no standby glow. all modules contain the driver inside, so all you have to do is just add power.
all modules are fully sealed with an AR window, so no dirt or dust issues
all modules are connected via a dsub connector

a recently blue build ive done was this pair of quad 445 modules -

im a bit lacking in blue module photos sorry
very simple, just 4 diodes knifed edged together, you cant correct 4x 445 beams.

ive also done dual 445 modules in the same case, 2x diodes through a cube and waveplate and then corrected for a nice beam. the final beam is 4mm by 3.5mm @ 1.2mR.
the module is 140mm long by 66mm wide by 50mm high

a recent red ive done is this quad 1.2watt 638nm module -

inside is 4x 300mw 638 diodes, two set knifed edged together then combined thrugh a cube and waveplate, from memory final beam was 5mm by 4mm@1.2mR.
this module measures 140mm by 95mm by 60mm high
ive got some 500mw 638 diodes on order as i want to do a 2watt versions
due to the diodes being multi modal and the beam going through correction optics its always slightly messy at distance. for the best beam single mode is the way to go.

i have some single mode 638 diodes here ive just not got round to doing a build with them yet

You didn,t had a broken one, you needed a couple of them for using them in your other projectors and so i pointed you to Laserwinkel. Trying to accuse me of bad service is not very nice. I think many other disagree on that but it also depends on how people you threat. Your in for the money since and support only people that can help you. Once you have what they got you kick them on the side like a piece of trash.

laserwinkel sometimes resells parts of me because i,m not to keen on selling parts. The wive hates spending half an hour on making an invoice and i can,t blame her.
Oh no you don,t need tax invoices because obvious reasons You didn,t want to buy the original brass flexmount because when i had them the price i offered was 15 euro instead. You also preffered the one that i developed with the triangle head and that one is not for sale. I improved the triangle one and that will be for sale. Keep things like it is and tell the truth like it is

Plenty of them sitting here on my desk now.

I give them away them for free that support me building up the company.Buying a module and get the mount for free as a thank you

Oh wait i have also these nice mounts to make a nice 12 combiner That reminds me to give away a few to someone who organizes a great Lem in february. I think he appreciate the gesture.

badger , if you thinking about building it complete by yourself send me a PM and i,m happy to help you and combine a few red mitsubishi,s for cheap.

@ andy looks nice. Added teccooling now or still without ? Good alternitive for people that want to comprimise beamspecs and power for a lower budget
