    Default fb3 qs scan angles?

Hi everyone, whilst doing a show last night, the owner of the venue brought a 650mw ttl RGB over to me with a fb3 qs (its his son's New toy) I powered it up left it in demo to see what it'd do (standard chi laser dmxboard standard images) Bit when I ran QS the MAX scan size was dramatically reduced,I'd say 40% at least (as opposed to demo). I know about a diff board for the Se version but not for the Qs version.Any ideas?
The undercurrent of this is I'm tempted to retire my old show system and go 'Beyond' as the packages available are tempting but with a mixture dt 40 wides Cambridge and 'others' (chi scans) I'm concerned about cross compatability.
Will this happen with qs and beyond?
Is the 'throttling' board based or software based?
Is it because qs is entry level?
    Opinions are greatly appreciated

Do you mean you left the laser itself in Auto before connecting QS?

If so in QS, what was the main size setting set at?

Main menu > Settings > Projector Settings - check the sizes as usually QS is set to 50% out of the box. That would explain the difference.

I suspect it's nothing to do with the FB3, and everything to do with single ended scanner drivers in the projector. The FB3 has differential outputs as you point out, so you only get half the signal. A switch to a half decent set of scanners (e.g. DT's) will fix it.

You are using Bonetti's defense against me, ah?

I thought it fitting, considering the rocky terrain.

    Hi ClearBlu,

First let me wish you a Happy New Year and the best for 2013!

Regarding what you reported -- out of the box, QuickShow is set to output at 50% size. You can easily change this by going to the Settings/Projector Settings menu.

If you have QuickShow size set to 100% and you are still seeing a difference in size, then the problem would be the laser projector itself. We have seen this phenomenon with some Chinese laser projectors. It has nothing to do with our software or hardware (and in fact all would do the same) and everything to do with internal construction fo teh laser projector.

Please let us know if you have any other questions or comments.

    Best regards,

    William Benner

Thanks for the replies, turn's out after I'd installed QS and spent an hour or so hammering safety and showing 'basics in QS' He'd decided to download the Periodic elements off show space, this changed the library and he panicked and de-installed and did a fresh install.I only had half an hour to look at it ( NYE ) and had a nightmare with Pyro's ( Key turned does not mean armed!) so wasn't in the best of moods! It's working 100% now.

I heard people can express wild emotions when they see Periodic Elements.
Guess I can add 'panic' to the list now.

Please rate it on showspace with some stars if you like it.
