Coolest DAC in the world!!

Ok MANY thank to IHOR for making the information needed to fix my DAC possible.
I have a few RIYA lite DACs. there were the first generation of dacs and wired , unfortunately, with very substandard usb cable. I wish to point out that this is not his fault in any way, just an engineering flaw that rose up later. On the other side the DAC itself if AWESOME to use. so after a quick email.. here is what I did..
First, Find a schedule "c" usb cable, the one on the right is the "factory " one and needs to be replaced.

Then drill out the strain relief, see above relief pre drilled an inserted onto the red usb cable.
Then carefully solder the new wires back to the proper terminals. My wires were so thick that I mounted them at 90 degrees.

It was recommended that pin#24 also be grounded

After all the soldering was done, now to find a project box. I chose an Altoids tin!

No offense but it doesn't seem like putting delicate electronics in a flimsy metal box is a good idea.

I thought it was pretty cool!

As long as it isn't shorting out anything and the metal box is grounded via the DB25 port shell then it will only provide better ground shielding.

No offense, I like altoids tin projects.. but putting this kind of stuff in an altoids tin box isn't really smart.
You do know that say this gets hit and it shortens out connections at the top it could do all kinds of nasty things to the scanning or output right?

Sure I know it's a what if situation, but I don't feel it should be an acceptible thing.
