Great news folks. I've just had confirmation that James Stewart from LVR Safety has agreed to pop along to the ShowLEM to give a safety presentation. This will probably take place on the Sunday.

Rather than type everything out again I'm sure James won't mind if I copy and paste a section of his email to me below...

I've got one of Bill's PASS boards that I've been playing with with my 'modified' Kvant projector, integrating it with the optical monitoring I'd previously fitted to the projector. It strikes me that if I were to bring the projector and PASS along, there are some that may be interested in seeing PASS in operation, and the difference the lenses added can make also. I'll be able to spend some time giving a quick tutorial of how the system can be properly set up, and people can see the results.

Thank you Jeremy for inviting me.

We should be able to do some interesting things, including the demonstration of Pangolin’s PASS, showing how it works with the optical feedback fitted in the projector, and running a comparison of different power/divergence combinations that keep exposure levels below the MPE. We’ll be able to look at the comparisons of using tight, but restrictive power beams, against higher power beams with a greater divergence.

Apart from the demonstration/tutorial on using PASS and the Safety Scan lenses, (as well as a few other interesting things), it will be good to just say hello and meet some of the people that make this forum and meets the interesting place they are.

It is highly likely I'm off on a ~10 day laser job in Spain, and that weekend is slap bang in the middle of it. (I'd previously got the dates wrong and thought I was free that weekend.)
I'd be happy to contribute should I not be able to make it.
