Default FB3 Quickshow and X-Laser RGY setup question - WARNING Noob alert

Ok. I've been searching and I can't find this answer.

I have an X-Laser RGY 300mw with 15k scanner. TTL.
I just purchased Pangolin QS with FB3 and I'm watching tutorial videos on Youtube. (love the tutorials)

By default when I click on a cue in QS the resulting image coming out of the laser is tilted about 75 - 80 degrees to the left. I can correct it just fine by rotating the Z knob to the right. The annoying part is when I'm trying to preview Quicktext the words run vertically but they come out of the laser horizontal (which is what I want).

Is there a "default settings" menu I can work with to correct the "default laser position" so what I see in cue is what is show coming out of the laser without messing with the Z knob?

I have a feeling this is going get an "Oh DuH" moment when I hear the answer.

FINAL question...I am getting a second one of these X-Lasers soon so I'm going to have 2. In the meantime until I get another FB3 what is a cheap way to run this second unit (reliably and safely) with a spliiter? I see cheap splitter "Y" cables on eBay...but I don't want to waste my money on crap if its unsafe or unreliable.

    Thanks in advance.

Ok good I'll check and see if that helps. I'll cruise through the settings in all the menu items...its just weird how its rotated just a few degrees...not even 90 or something that makes sense.

What does the laser do on auto ie with no QS connected? This sounds unusual so makes you wonder if everything is OK with the Xlaser setup.

In any case, there is a way of correcting this although you may have to do it for every zone.

Go to "Settings" > Projection Zones > then choose the zone you're working in eg 1 Main Graphics > Geometric Correction > Rotation. You can correct the rotation in here then copy the settings to each and every zone.

White-Light thanks for that. I did go into the projection zones and saw these settings. Thus far I'm so new to this I didn't even mess with it.

Good idea about running the Laser in stand alone mode. I will do that.

The other X-Laser is coming tomorrow. I'll hook it up and easily see if the problem is native or not to these units. It's not really a "problem" but more of an annoyance. Other than this issue the laser works and looks great.

Both units are purchases from ebay which were then shipped to X-Laser for full service and repair. I'm very happy with their speed of service and pricing to fix these units up.

Any thoughts on the last part of my thread about using one FB3 for 2 lasers cheaply? I do plan on another FB3 but just wanted something to get by for a minute while I learn the QS program

You could try a Y shaped splitter cable then invert X on one of the projectors so as to produce a mirrored image.

I'm sure others can advise you of other options.

KGB are you the seller? If so can I buy direct to save you some dough? I'll need 30' ILDA cable too...or thereabouts...

OK I ran the projector in auto mode and it produced text and graphics in the correct orientation.

I then plugged in the projector to QS. I went into the settings menu projected and projected a test pattern on the wall. It was rotated exactly 90 Degrees counter clockwise. The "invert x, y, and xy" boxes all produces the proper results of flipping the image around but there is no simple way to rotate 90 degrees clockwise.

I'll wait until the other unit gets here later today and test that one. If the results are identical I'll proceed to ask X-Laser or go with your recommendation of fiddling with the global settings....

Thanks everyone for your help...I'll keep you posted

You can rotate it any amount you want in the software using the zone settings as I described above and the settings have permanance.

However, you shouldn't have to. Something is wrong somewhere. I wonder if there's a problem with the ILDA wiring or ILDA cable?

I'm sure someone on here will have come across this before.
