    Default Sony CDP-101

I'm looking for a Sony CDP-101 from 1983 to add to my collection of vintage lasers. It's the first CD player to hit the market. I already have the first laserdisc player with a He-Ne and the first one with a diode laser in it, and a Sony D-5 (first portable CD player). I know they come up on Ebay occasionally, but thought I'd ask here hoping to get one from someone who's also connected with lasers. There's a guy who posted a thread on another electronics forum about the very first one to hit the US market (SN 80001), but he posted about it and left that forum and hasn't replied to my attempts to contact him. Thanks!

I'm thinking we may actually have one of these at the Laserium-lair.. I can't get to it, at least not this-week.. sick as a friggin dog, but.. in the coming weeks, I'll check / let ya know.. I'd just as-soon do some 'mild horse-trading'... we can discuss...

    cheers..

Found a D-5, now looking for the CDP-101 and a Philips CD-100 (which came out at essentially the same time as the Sony player). From what I read, the Sony CDP-101 came out in Japan in October 1982 and the Philips CD-100 the next month along with the first release of the CDs themselves.
