MIRACL and THEL... Now those are two fun looking lasers, and I never thought about it but your right, an aurora show would be phenomenal...

Remind me next time red-tide is in over there, I might be compelled to make the trip.

yes I totally forgot about all that US brands 8)
But then again, it seems like they is for professional use.. not a hobbiest !

    Well then... back to Chinese
i hope that Viasho can start to produce some powerful quality blue !
As I really would love to have ONE dealer, and not 3 diffrent for each laser colour!!

I wonder if maxyzmodules are working on a blue?

Can you tell me anything about how that works? If I Google for arctos patent laser cavity (words, not exact string) the results only amount to 5 pages, almost all totally irrelevant. Does this patent prohibit other people from selling lasers with polarization based combination of beams?

Also, I've heard of more than two beams combined. Any idea how that is done? I don't know how you could do it with polarizer cubes unless you can rotate one plane to parallel the other after a cube, before mixing it with a second similarly treated pair.

I've had another idea for multi-laser output for a single beam, using lenses only, but I don't think it will work well, or be stable or easy to align.

I asked Rumzing and they said that they've been manufacturing lasers since 1999. According to them, Rumzing lasers have the highest analog modulation speed in China (15kHz) and that the waveform is still normal at this speed while others may show distortion at 10kHz when tested. They also said that a new breed of red lasers are coming during the February-March time. All lasers have IR filters by default.

While I haven't yet verified the modulation performance myself, I can say there are no problems with blanking, TTL or analog. Also the beam quality and divergence seem very good. So good that I'm going to have their 300mW or 350mW blue later this year.

I promised to post a picture of the unit, but you can already find a good image at their website.

I didn't see any prices on their website. Are they competitive with other mfgs?

    Hmm....
Have you compared their beam specifications?

Rumzing specs for 300mW 473nm laser:

    Divergence <0.8mrad
    Beam diameter <1.5mm
    Modulation 15kHz analog

    CNI:

    Divergence <2.0mrad
    Beam diameter ~3.0mm
    Modulation 10kHz analog

They actually claimed to have made some improvements for my 532nm DPSS for stability and higher analog modulation frequency. Beam quality is very nice.

Here are the specs for Lasever:

    Wavelength 473 nm
    Spatial Mode TEM00
    Output Power 50...200 mW
    Residual IR (1064, 808, 946nm etc) <0.01%
    Operation Current 1.20~2.0 A
    Operation Mode CW or Modulation
    Linewidth <0.1 nm
    Polarization Linear
Beam Spot Shape Circular, aspect ratio<1.1:1
    Pointing Stability <0.05 mrad
    Beam Diameter(1/e2) 2 mm
    Beam Divergence 0.5 mrad
Power Stability* <¡À5% per 2 hrs
    Temperature Stabilizing TEC
    Warm Up Time <5 minutes
    Beam Quality (M2) <1.2
    Optimum Operating Temperature 20~30oc
    Storage Temperature 10~50oC
    MTTF** 10,000 hrs
    Dimensions 100(L)x30(W)x41(H) mm
    Weight 60g

I noticed Rumzing's MTTF was kinda low.
