Default 6V High Current Power Supplies

I am looking for a reliable power supply that is not generously rated for 30+ amps. I am driving some pretty expensive 808nm diodes and I am looking for an alternative to my stack of collected Mean Well units. I know that from time to time some good options are mentioned in various threads, but a search is not bringing anything up and I was too lazy to note them earlier. Any suggestions?

I know I have heard well of vicor power supplies - http://www.vicorpower.com/ . I would still wait for steve and others to chime in.

Laser (the acronym derived from Light Amplification by Stimulated Emissions of Radiation) is a spectacular manifestation of this process. It is a source which emits a kind of light of unrivaled purity and intensity not found in any of the previously known sources of radiation. - Lasers & Non-Linear Optics, B.B. Laud.

Are you looking for a benchtop type supply or something that you can integrate into your projector? If the benchtop one I would turn to ebay and get an old aglient/hp supply (the older style one with analog knobs or the newer style digital ones would both be fine for you application, I prefer the new style ones since they are more repeatable...) This one is pretty beat up but would do the job http://www.ebay.com/itm/HP-6268A-DC-...item4170cecd96 a really beat up 'new' style one http://www.ebay.com/itm/HP-6652A-Sys...item53f51985d8 the 6259a/b or 6261a/b would also work nicely If you have money to spend check out this beast http://www.ebay.com/itm/HP-6651A-SYS...item53efd7d831

For integrating into a projector, look into the vicor modules, they are pricey (will run you about $200) and you have to add in your own parts to run constant current (see http://cdn.vicorpower.com/documents/...antCurrent.pdf) but are the best way to get a compact driver module.
