    Default Lasercheck Readings

Just a couple of easy questions.....

    1. Does the Lasercheck only measure the wavelength that it is set at? ie @532 the readout is purely green and no IR.

    2. How close and at what angle should you take the reading?

I wonder on that as well
    But i guess 535nm only read 535nm ?
And if you adjust the check to IR it will only measure IR .... :?

About where to measure, I try to measure close to the laser..
And I hold it in a tiiiiny angle so the beam dont reflect directly back (but on green\maybe blue? that is not a danger?)

    Some answers will be helpful

Nope. It measures the entire beam as one light source.

The wavelength selection is to select the mathematic adjustments for a given frequency.

For example, the 405nM pointer here reads 28mW when the selector is at 405nM but only 3-4mW when on 660nM

If you have it set to 532nM and theres 808/1064nM in the beam it will read outrageously high. 2-6x higher depending on where the IR beams are in relation to the 532nM one. There usually a couple degrees run-off.

    thanx for clearing that up

Then we KNOW that the lasers from Viasho have IR filters 8)
    That is nice to know..

*or* the IR beams are just way off axis, completely doable with these weird crystal cavities.

Best to have an extra IR filter laying around to make sure.

    Good to know!
I will receive my lasercheck within some few days

    Thanks Spec!

So how do we check to see if there is 808/1064 in the reading?
And what do you do to find the power of the beam you are intrested in?
Do dichros let the IR through too?

I've recieved my analogue CNI 473nm 50mW today, there is a filter that is visable just behind the aperature which is presumably an IR filter, when I've checked the power (lasercheck set to 473) it shows 185mW :O

There seems to be a massive loss on the red on the galvos, 152mw before them and 62mW after them

    Jim
