    Default M140 vs 9mm

I am looking to get more blue and already have one M140 diode. I was thinking of knife edging with a 9mm diode for even more power then using another M140. Do they have similar beam characteristics? In other words can I knife edge the two different diodes and then send them through my C-lenses?

The 9mm are the same die as the m140. The only advantage they have is more surface area for better cooling.

I believe DTR has a post that demonstrates the beam dimensions of the two diodes are similar. The small scale structure is similar, but the better heat sinking of the larger flange allows you to run it a few hundred mw higher. So, a 4W dual might be a 4.3W dual.
