Kvant has always been pushing its laser research and development to the limits. Kvant's continual improvements and recognised innovations make the company one of the leading developers and manufacturers in Laser Display industry worldwide. A good example of this are our 515/520nm diode laser modules that we introduced to the industry last year.

The main goal of Kvant's R&D department for 2013 is to develop new laser colours and to improve overall performance and effectivity of already great laser modules KVANT that are used for laser display and scientific purposes.

Recently we have pioneered our new wavelengths of 639 and 607nm, emitting beams with divergences 0.17 and 0.16 mrad. This has been big success for us and it shows our abilities and knowledge in DPSS technology. We are the only manufacturer of laser show systems that is capable of manufacturing high quality DPSS laser modules in-house.
When it comes to diode laser modules we can offer new wavelengths like 457, 473 and 488nm.

Here is the complete list of laser wavelengths developed and manufactured by KVANT:

    DPSS lasers: 639nm & 607nm
    Diode lasers: 660nm, 637nm, 520nm, 445nm
    Scientific diode lasers: 488nm, 473nm, 457nm, 420nm, 415nm, 405nm, 395nm, 375nm

Quoting low half angle divergences means nothing without FWHM or 1/e2 beam diameters, or M^2 values.

These new DPSS have to be 445nm pumped Pr:YLF right?
    - There is no such word as "can't" -

    Hey Martin,

Because all you really do here is use this board as a space for advertisement how about you donate some money.

    Pelikan,

Based on your post, I went to your company's web site and I am unable to find any proof or documentation that clarifies the performance of these laser systems. Marketing hype irritates me because it wastes my time. It forces me to do the research and calculations to determine what to believe. And, if I have enough insight to make these determinations (I think I do) then I may as well construct these laser(s) myself.

My second rant....20% VAT ?? If this is true; are you insane? And I don't mean you Pelikan. I mean those Europeans that allow the value of their work product to be so easily taken.

    Hey Planters.

Yup, the UK is 20% VAT...
But not as bad as some other European nations. VAT in Europe seems to vary from 18% to around 22% depending on which country you buy in...

But if you think that's bad, tax on Petrol and road diesel is around 78% here now!
That makes standard petrol around £1.40 per litre at the forecourt... Yes, we're insane for letting our government get away with it for WAY too long now.
But we do get free healthcare and whatnot in return, so not all bad.

And now back to the original topic! >>>>

    20% VAT

Yep, for some reason, the UK government decided a few years back that dropping the VAT rate from 17.5% to 15% was going to kick start the economy. It didn't (no surprise huh!) and then they had a bigger deficit than before, so it went back up in excess of where it was before!

Seriously, whoever comes up with these hairbrained schemes!!??!

And what does it do? It encourages people to buy from abroad like China, where they have no qualms about stated value on import goods. And so the situation is compounded. It strikes me as some fairly basic economics really.

You are using Bonetti's defense against me, ah?

I thought it fitting, considering the rocky terrain.

Well... personally I think they get their ideas from the banking sector, which is now something like 40% of our GDP. It's kind of obvious really what with the tax breaks for owning property worth more than a £million, cutting the higher rate tax band and now haranguing the Euro Parliament on banking regulations... Weren't we the ONLY country doing that?

Odd actually, when you think that it's the banking sector's fault we're in such a mess in the first place... yet it's us on the 'coalface' who're picking up the bill while the bankers get their £900,000.00 bonuses...

    Anyway. Really, rant over.

Normal service to be resumed >>>>

Curious as to how many arms and legs that 639nm DPSS runs... That would be a nice module to PBS with an Opnext or single mode Mitsubishi, 500mW~600mW of tight red.

DPSS means those have worse modulation parameters than diode lasers?
