    LOL

I do my count down in days (for now)

    lol

I may have convinced a friend from MotorCity to do SELEM- he *MAY* want to stay over for the LSO course-if you want his contact info to discuss travel just PM me- I can vouch for him.

7 balls if you count the 12inch and mini ball I am bringing the small one is battery rotated and the ac one has RC off and on (if needed)

sounds like the biggest 'balls' will have to be on Jonathon to climb that ladder-
I may have a new attendee that wants to take LSO

speaking of that I had gotten a few promises of notes taken from the course (brad? greg?)

Q-- should I take a refresher CPR course before LSO ??

please reply --time is short- anybody sending me help will be rewarded-even links will help-

I haven't forgotten. I'm actually behind on a few promises recently. I'll try and get something for you this week.

Also, I saw on the internet today that in Hickory (next to Newton-Conover) there is some planetarium that does laser shows. I am not sure if they will be doing any in August but it might be interesting to contact those folks to see if "something" could be arranged. I am not sure what "something" is but even if it means just having the people from the planetarium drop by SELEM (as guests) that would be cool. Maybe if we invite them maybe in the future we could work out some way to do something in the planetarium in the future. Just thinking out loud.
Gary - I think it's a great idea. I drove past this in Hickory and wondered about going to it someday.

I'd like to plan towards this, preferably on Friday evening after dinner in Hickory (if it can be worked out). Here's the link to the planetarium:

    Catawba Science Center

They have an AVI SkyLase, full diode based system. More than likely, I will be going if there is a show that lines up with SELEM this year. I should have room in the car if anyone wants to check it out.

Holy you know what! OF COURSE we need to check into this. I suppose if they new 60-80 laserists were in town, they might run a show or adjust the schedule, or maybe a Sunday morning tour or.... Who knows what else! :0)

    Hey Brad,

Yep - I'll give them a call to see what may be possible. It's not a huge dome (30 foot), but it's something that is hard to duplicate at home. For all of our equipment, to the best of my knowledge, no one has their own dome. Well maybe the guy who has the dome home and vintage laser setup...

Folks that are on the fence - you need to attend SELEM this year. I really believe it will be our best yet!

those old shows are pretty amazing to see with an omniscan/skywriter and a dome. it's quite a different experience than flat projections on a wall.

i've seen about 90% of all the AVI shows. some of them will really rock your socks.

suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.

Heh, thanks, Cap'n... but, we'll hafta see.. Obviously, 'one more adventure-week w/ The Boys in AZ', on the 'scale' vs S'LEM, well... Luv' ya'll, but... Sorry, the Boys win that one.. ..But, we'll just have to see... there's always the 'Mothership-factor'.. http://www.chiangraitimes.com/wp-con...8834-800wi.jpg ... but we'll see how much tussle there is with 'Mom' over back-to-skull timing, etc and we'll see.. It'd certainly be cool to make it..

If it were a SAFE ladder, then yes, the base footprint would be that wide.

In actuality though, the base only extends about 10 feet. So it's very precariously balanced.

Then you have to remember that the floor in the auditorium is slightly sloped towards the stage. All in all, it's a FRIGHTENING experience to just watch someone climb it.

    Here's what it looks like:
