Yep.. that's the one. I thought I had it somewhere as well but couldn't find it. I'm not afraid of heights but, certainly can be of ladders. The man has balls, I'll give him that!

That picture doesn't do it justice. There is a LOT of ladder that is not in the picture. No way in hell I would climb that thing to the top like that.

    [QUOTE=Displaser;262240]Hey Brad,

Yep - I'll give them a call to see what may be possible. It's not a huge dome (30 foot), but it's something that is hard to duplicate at home. For all of our equipment, to the best of my knowledge, no one has their own dome. Well maybe the guy who has the dome home and vintage laser setup...

Folks that are on the fence - you need to attend SELEM this year. I really believe it will be our best yet!

^^^^^ WHAT Greg said- being on a budget so tight I squeek when I walk....
If there are any others ways to do SELEM any cheaper I would like to hear about them.

SO>>>>>. Any who have never been or not in many years PLZ feel free to let me know what your obsticles are and I will do my best to help you get there.

By far at least for most of us, the biggest expenses is getting there and back home

-So send yr shirt size(s) and your 60$-THEN get your transport covered and all the rest will fall into place-- Laserman121 Zach has been a wiz at putting rides together- carpool may be the lowest cost way- and for sure you will arrived tired but its a small price to pay.

I dont want to hear about how tired you willbe when you get back home.deal with it! Meals do not count- like most I bet you eat every day-at the HIE they provide an OK morning feed-its free so...

you can bring stuff from home-two (at least) kitches are at SELEM for you to use. One at the MAIN venu(no pots, panns etc) and a full kitchen (with pots/pans) in every suite. Suites used wisely are by far the best deal at 99$ +tax per night- I have gotten suites every year and done right-the costper nite per person is 20 t0 25$ +tax.

The HIE DOES have several roll away beds-(but I never count on these & bring a air bed-pillows and bedding are free at the front desk) suite= two rooms two beds-one couch and floor space for two or more. we even had 6 in one for one night. Try for the first floor near the conference room- there is a public bathroom there for use.

Rides to and from the venu & the HIE are easy-just sit and ask-wear your name tag badges at ALL times. I will place a notebokk atr the front desk- plz sign in- add you cell #-your names(form and for real) and you room number-IF YOU WANT- it will help peeps get and stay in touch. Post in this thread if you seek room/suite shareres or rides needed or offered.

For a few there may be an empty bed in thier room on onr or more nights- as we all do not come and leave the same days- so be a good sport and let somebody know- we do have guys without the means to pAy for a room-i KNOW OF A FEW THAT SLEPT IN THEIR CARS. As a few will be staying the extra night to help break down and load up as well as the LSO course on Monday there SHOULD be a bed or two on Sunday night- I NEED one of those-so anyone feeling generous should PM me- I DO NOT snore! I(I cant)- I will stay out of your way as much as possible and I will be greatful for the bed(or FLOOR SPACE.) I will bring a min. of two airbeds or more if your need to use one. I have 2 or 3 more and will bring IF ASKED in advance.

You do not need to inflate these-I will do that for you. as said bedding at front desk just ask. I am gong now to start anew thred now just for the LSO course with some info you need to know. anyone thibnking about it even for SELEM 2014 should see what will be posted there.IMPORTANT!

For any interested, I highly recommend making the investment for the LSO class. Makhov does a great job with it and it's a bargain compared to any equivalent class. Don't get turned off by folks saying that the class is very hard. That may be their opinion but several others I know that have taken the class said it was quite simple for them. The subject matter can get a little bit heavy at times but if you're capable of building a laser projector and staying focused for 6-8 hours on the material you should be able to pass the test at the end. If you do a little studying as to MPE, irradiance, angular velocity before hand you'll come out of it easily.

Thanks for the advice and encouragement- the one two years ago had some that failed but I am pretty sure they did no or very little studying-

Taking the Casey Stack course may help me too= I kept my notes and have the handouts Casey gave us.

If anyone can send me a few typical math questions I will use them for study.

I would greatly appreciate some of you to look at the file and give me an idea of how much of it would help[
[I will study all if needed but not sure that all is needed

What type? I've been up in a 150 by myself a couple times. I'd like to get into it again. It's just a PITA due to vision problems in one eye though. Fuel also cost a lot more now than it did back in 97 and 98.

I have a 1967 Cessna 150 G model. I've completely re-worked the interior, new carpet, re-upholstered the seats with lumbar support and memory foam, new radio & compass, yoke covers with PTT. It needs the exterior repainted, but that is a little out of my price range and would cost more than the plane is worth.

It will cost me more to fly to SELEM than it would to drive for sure, and I will only get there a little faster, but boy it will be fun!!
I can't wait. I hope the weather will let me fly it there.

Here are a couple pics of my flying Volkswagen.
