Sorry Greg, but this close to the event I can't make any changes to the Auditorium schedule. I've already paid for everything, including Friday night, so I'm going to have to bow out.

If a group of folks want to leave SELEM and head out to the planetarium for a show, that's cool, but I'm going to have to stay at the venue for the duration. Also, most of the shows they have at the planetarium are also available for display in the auditorium. Something to consider.

If we had thought of this earlier, we could have set it up for Thursday after the setup is complete. That might have worked out better.

Still, there's nothing wrong with folks who want to duck out for a while to see the planetarium. And for those that stay, everything will continue as normal at SELEM.

I kind of thought the same thing about Thursday - we're usually already AT dinner in Hickory anyway. I'd still support the cause on Friday (although I'd like to just do the planetarium and not dinner away from SELEM 2 nights in a row) but, if we can talk them into Thursday I agree it would be better. I think we often have at least 15-20 or more at dinner Thursday anyway.

    Adam,

No issue here, as I was misunderstanding the schedule for this year. I'll see if Thursday night will work. I'm sure that a number of us will go if this can be arranged - I'll get more details and will likely start another thread soon.

Anyone that is interested in going, feel free to respond here. I'm sure that this will require at least a deposit to be put down. I don't think this should be looked at as a "more of the same" - this is a unique environment, an opportunity to see a SkyLase, starfields, etc. I think this is a compliment to the entire SELEM experience.

I hope that we can count on many of you folks to join us on Thursday, after dinner in Hickory - we're going to need another 20 or so to commit if we are to make this happen.

I'll post my findings as soon as I can.

    Greg

Are there any events, presentations, or anything other than the door prizes lined up for Saturday?

I guess not. I think I will sit this one out since I have a lot of stuff to take care of around the house. It's only about a 3 hr drive away so I'll stay tuned in case something develops, though.

Sorry this is so late... I've been working a lot of hours at work and haven't had time to update this thread over the past few days.

Here are all the presentations we have scheduled so far:

    Scanner tuning : Buffo

Color timing / tails : Buffo, Swamidog, DZ

Color adjustment wizard in Pangolin : Buffo, DZ, Brad

LSX presentation / abstract tutorial : Swamidog

    DMX primer : Fleecom

What's new with Pangolin : Pangolin

    Projector certification / CDRH regs : X-laser

Lumia demonstrations : Displaser, PolishedBall, DrEvil

Right now the plan is to schedule Dan's projector certification lecture and Pangolin's "What's new" presentation for Saturday. Dan will probably go first, maybe around 1 PM, and Bill will start when Dan is finished (probably between 2:30 and 3 PM) Then door prize drawings at 5 PM in the auditorium, followed by a break for dinner. The rest of Saturday will be shows in the auditorium and live music and shows in Club SELEM, plus all the other usual goings on in the ion laser work room and the buy-and-sell area.

As for the other presentations, they will be divided up more or less evenly between Friday and Sunday. I was thinking about doing the first 3 on Friday, and the other three on Sunday, but that is subject to change. (Need feedback from the other presenters to nail this down.)

As for a schedule of show times in the auditorium, DZ has not received much feedback with regard to who has what shows they want to run. I know Swami has about an hour of content he'd like to run, and it seems to me that it would be good to run those shows immediately after he does his LSX / Abstract presentation...

suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.

I will get with DZ shortly. ImageLight and I put in another 6 hours last night running, rating and testing shows and breaking them down into ClubSELEM shows and auditorium shows. I think we're reviewed around 130 -140 shows so far. I've got another few hundred individual shows and I know we won't get to them all ahead of time but, I'm trying.

There is some bizzare stuff mixed in that we couldn't even figure out what to do with but, there are some really excellent shows as well. As I've mentioned, it's really interesting seeing and hearing shows made predominately from other countries. Some VERY European stuff.
