Brad, when I put up the schedule, I had no feedback from anyone on what shows they have to run or what times they'd like to run them. I've already made numerous changes to prevent conflicts with some other presentations. If you have a show or list of shows to run, please let me know and we'll modify the schedule. If you have a show that fits the genre I have listed for the time slot then you are absolutely welcome to run the show. If you think the entire line up is complete rubbish, please let me know so we can get it fixed up! Coordinating an event is not my thing! Aside from Pink Floyd late Friday night and Saturday night, and the LSX shows the rest of the schedule is completely open to modification!

QUOTE Brad"Should we be starting an equipment thread or list so we're not duplicating too many efforts? I'm just thinking about hazers, fog machines, splitters, cables, etc. I AM remembering a sound system for the conference room at the hotel this year. Meant to bring it last year and forgot but, it's in already in the rapidly growing pile o' crap to pack.[/QUOTE]

I have a sound system packed for the conf. room at the HIE and a mic I *think* works
5 disc cd player.. good sound for its size. Some insense sticks may help see beams but not set off any alarms.

Incense sticks would certainly smell better than a fogger. All I have is a couple interesting HeNes, my 40mW 520, and 120mW 589.

@ Dave - lengthy PM sent.

@ Hak, wonder if a thin bit of haze would work in there without setting anything off? 10 - 15 seconds with a DF-50 would probably do that room for a couple hours. Anyone know? I'd be concerned about incense in a public setting with other guests like a hotel.

Also... are we good for a projector if necessary for the auditorium classrooms AND, is there someone staying with one for Greg on Monday assuming the LSO class is on?

Pondering.... in exactly 1 week, I'll be posting in this thread from a hotel in Conover, NC. In the interim...

Run 2 weddings in excess of 300 people
    Run a bar mitzvah
Run a surprise 50th birthday party
Feed breakfasts to over 650 school administrators over 3 days
Feed lunches to nearly 500 school administrators over 3 days
Trip to Atlantic City for a DJ Convention
    560 mile drive
    eye dr's appt.
do the planning work necessary to have the place run smoothly while gone

Um... if it anything for SELEM isn't done by now, it ain't gittin' done. Holy crap! lol

Incense can be a dead giveaway but NOT about lasers- lol

I will have a spencers fogger with me-

we can put shower caps over the sensors.

I tired hard to buy a Kasio to bring but my source is out of them and also the 9m 445 PJs BENQ)

I even tried to get one sent to Newton but no way

any body got a spot on their floor for a bud and his air mattress.

either FRi or Sat. - either that or get a suite or whatever works my HIE is overbooked lol
    I call it indoor camping

    Smile Schedule information

I'm pretty sure smoking is not allowed in the conference room, so incense is out. A small fog machine used very sparingly might work, but do you really want to be the guy who sets off the fire alarm in a crowded hotel at 2 in the morning? In the past we've only ever run graphics shows in there, for just this reason.

We can use a small sound system with microphone for the presentations upstairs in the classroom area. Also, it would be nice to have a video projector available up there so presenters can connect their laptop to it...

DZ: regarding a schedule for presentations, here is what I propose:

    Friday:
1:00 PM - 2:00 PM Color adjustment / tails + Pangolin color wizard (backstage behind the curtain) - Buffo, DZ, Swamidog, Bradfo69
2:30 PM - 4:00 PM LSX demo / abstract tutorial (backstage behind the curtain) - Swamidog, DrLava
    5:00 PM - 6:00 PM Dinner break
6:30 PM - 7:30 PM DMX primer (Club SELEM) - Flecom

    Saturday:
1:00 PM - 2:30 PM Projector certification / CDRH regs (upstairs classroom) - Dan Goldsmith
3:00 PM - 5:00 PM What's new at Pangolin (upstairs classroom) - Bill Benner
5:00 PM - 5:30 PM Door Prize drawings
    5:30 PM - 6:30 PM Dinner break
6:30 PM - 8:00 PM Lumia demonstrations (backstage behind the curtain) - Displaser, Polishedball, DrEvil

    Sunday:
1:00 PM - 2:00 PM Scanner Tuning tutorial (backstage behind the curtain) - Buffo
2:30 PM - 4:00 PM Using the APC40 with Beyond (Club SELEM) - Allthatwhichis
5:30 PM - 8:00 PM Load out and clean up

Note that these time blocks are probably longer than they need to be. For example, I seriously doubt it will take us a full hour to talk about color timing and palette adjustments. Likewise, the lumia demonstrations will probably be going on for the entire weekend, but early Saturday evening seems like a good time for everyone to meet the creators and "talk shop" for a moment about how the effects were accomplished. So the "start" times are probably more important than anything else.

It just occurred to me that I can handle sound for the classroom too since I have powered PA speakers and a corded SM58. We only need one of the speakers I'm sure because I don't recall needing a PA in there anyway.

I don't recall how loud the sound system is when your backstage when shows are running in the auditorium but, we might need to take that into consideration. Smashing Pumpkins and Beatles are during color adjustment and LSX and then ZZ Top during the scanner tuning. Could be a little difficult to hear back there perhaps. Maybe the classrooms as backup?

Sounds like a sound plan..I will cover sound in conference room and Bard can do the classroom

Too bad nobody has yet to invent E-incense--lol

I was wondering why any fogging was asked for, as you are correct nothing much goes on in there using just beams. I think there will be a nightly study group for LSO- we will use the conference room if nobody is using it or can just study together in a suite or the lounge area. Sunday night will be our last chance to bone-up..
we still may need a projector for the LSO

    btw
anyone have needs from AixiZ- let me know or order by phone and ask Chuck to hand your order to me to carry with- so do that as you order & get the shipping free.

I will be stopping BRIEFLY next Tuesday (13th iirc).
