suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.
Holy crap! I think I can safely say that this was the best SELEM so far. We're really starting to get the hang of this! (Now if only I could get caught up on all the missed sleep...)
Club SELEM was incredible, and with three separate DJ's working the console (Les, Mario, and Andrew), it really rocked in there. The laser projectors, the beam rails, the fog geysers, and the DMX heads all came together to make one hell of an impressive display.
The auditorium setup was also world-class. Between the 5 beam projectors and DZ's awesome dual-head graphics projector (fed by nearly 7 watts of white from Jeff's Coherent Starlight II), we had everything anyone could ever want for running pre-choreographed shows.
Thanks again to everyone who traveled to the event and brought their equipment with them. This thing doesn't happen without the participation of the attendees. In particular, thanks to those kind souls who arrived early and stayed late to help with setup and clean-up. Thanks also to everyone who helped out with the presentations. I think they were quite well attended this year.
It sure was a lot of work, and we had more than our share of problems, but we overcame all of that to create a great experience for everyone. I'm seriously bummed out that it's already over. It really was a lot of fun. I hope to see everyone again next year. (And yes, I already booked the auditorium for SELEM 8. Dates are August 15-17, 2014, with the load-in taking place on Thursday the 14th as usual.)

Adam,
What was the final head count?

I don't know yet. After I unpacked the Jeep yesterday, I crashed hard. I'm still exhausted today! Hopefully when I get home this afternoon I'll have time to go over everything. I still need to count the waivers, post a list of the door prize winners, and fire off the excess funds to Spec.

Haha, 'young Greg'. Here are the pics you're looking for, you should be able to download them at full resolution.
Had an awesome time at my first SELEM and learned a lot too! Met many interesting, knowledgeable, and friendly people and saw a bunch of things I have never seen before.
As a newb with Quickshow and a few chi-jectors, the highlights for me were the LSX demo and the scanner tuning session. (Just purchased an Etherdream and a copy of LSX!)
I spent a lot of time in the main projector room and found the artistry in the shows as well as the technology to produce them simply out of this world.
I now have the knowledge and confidence to get started building my own projector, thanks everyone!
Hope to come again next year.
