I know it's not much compared to the wonderful PJs most of you can provided, but I have a couple ML HeNes that may be worth bringing.

    3 line REO 612nm (does a dash of 594 and 604)
    2 line 5mW MG LYR (4.75mW of 594 and a hint of 604)
    6 line Raman Particle Counter. Operating at 6 lines (612, 629, 633, 635, 640 [BARELY], 650)

The first two would be fairly easy to wrap in bubble wrap and stuff in a carry on. Only issue is going through security. In theory it should be fine since I'm flying in uniform, I doubt they will question me. However, the Raman is...bulky. This will not be an easy thing to carry on-board. That being said, if there's a high enough desire, perhaps I could ship it to someone driving and we could work something out.

    Thoughts?

Also have a tunable 8 line argon, but I live in Nebraska $$$ for shipping

ALSO! Looking for a roommate! I'll bite the bullet and just get my own room in 48hr.

I know nobody wants "baby sitting duty" but I am a mature 19 year old that doesn't talk too much. It's like I won't even be there. I also don't have anything against sleeping on the floor, wouldn't be the first, and Definitely not the last. *I personally think that half the adventure in traveling is making due, and I'd that involves sleeping on the floor with some fellow laser geeks, then so be it. *I'm fairly open when it comes to traveling, all in the name of adventure!

It is indeed, normally my comfortable max for a day is about 500 miles so I should be good. Once I went from Laurel, MD to Toronto in one day in early december, so a 500 mile ride into the carolinas in summer sounds alright by me. The hard part is figuring out equipment, but I figure worst case i can bring my truck and load the bike into it.

Got you on the list, Greg.

2 weeks to go people. Now is the time to start arranging your gear. Decide what you will bring, and see how much space it will take up. Trust me, it always ends up being more than you think!

Who will be available to assist with load-in on Thursday?

    Adam

I going to try to get there Thursday, I want to help as much as I can being the new guy.

That being said, I've never even seen or touched a PJ in my life. This will be my fist time watching a laser show...will try to hold in the excitement.

I can help with whatever you trust me not to break

Wow.... this is a leap of faith then. Prepared to become addicted. You'll have a blast... and your wallet will never quite be the same.

Oh man, you are in for the ride of your life!

If this will really be your first ever laser show, then you're certainly starting things off with a bang! You'll probably be DREAMING about laser shows for weeks afterwards. Usually after the first night of SELEM I can close my eyes and visualize the beams in my head. And I've been doing this for a long time...

However, as Brad said - once SELEM is over you can kiss all hope of financial solvency goodbye. Because you're going to want to buy LOTS and LOTS of toys when you leave, and unfortunately they're a little on the pricey side.

Welcome to the wonderful world of laser shows dude. Sorry about your wallet!

    Adam

PS: We can definitely use your help with the load-in and setup. It's also a good way to learn how all this stuff gets connected together. If you can be at the venue around noon on Thursday, that's when we'll begin setting up.

Our friends on the other side of the pond made me realize in another thread that there is something severely lacking with the ClubSELEM experience.

Perhaps buffo needs to do some research...
