    see above post #376

for directions to & from the venues and HIE

the bridge over US 40 is out so we must take a diff. route from past years
this will also effect the route- for those coming in and heading to the HIE.

So you will have to go one more exit OR get off at the exit before.

    *************** >(*U*)<********
TO help us contact others at SELEM I suggest a list be kept where we sign in and
IF you want- you can put your username- real first name=- room # where your are staying and your cell.

Will the event be live streamed? I'd love to see some presentations, maybe some shows in the auditorium as well.
So if someone with a camera and laptop would be so kind... Much appreciated!

Looks like there is a possibility that is might rain this year. This will be the third year in a row if it does.

Would anybody be interested in running some shows at HIE like we did a couple years ago?

@ Matt-I missed last year and really wish I could have gone. Two years without a SELEM is torture. I already made you and your dad a name tag, you have to go! Lol

@ Hak- "Each first-timer is allotted a certain number of questions.(j/k_)"
There is a saying "How do you know there is a pilot in the room. Give him a second, he will tell you". Pilots love to talk about aviation, but I think laser geeks love to talk lasers even more. Just ask one a question, any question, about their projector and sit back.

    @ ALL SELEM Attendees -
Incase anyone didn't already know I have name tags for everyone attending SELEM. When you arrive please try to find me (Chris/Lazerjock) or Adam who will point me out to you. I started making name tags a few years ago since the event had grown so much and it seems to work. They have the official SELEM logo, your avatar (if you have one), your screen name and your real name. It just makes things easier since some of us have never met in person. Please have them on when ever you are at the auditorium.
I will also be asking you to sign a release form when I give you your name tag.

See you in a few days!
    Chris

Is there enough room for me to add my LPF name? They're different. Long story. I can use a sharpie, just not sure if there is room for it.

who else is staying at the trotthouse?

it might be nice to organize breakast times for some pre-show meet and greet and to make things easier on the staff.
suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.

    Hi Bill;

Really glad you'll be there again this year. Thanks for volunteering to black-out the windows in "Club SELEM". I'll see if I can't get you some more help this year. (You did a great job last year!)

I will be at the venue by noon (if not earlier) on Thursday, so we'll be able to get started right away.

Thanks to inspiration from the Lumia seminar last year I have ventured down the lumia show path, although maybe a different path than most. I do my shows " TO THE MUSIC " , I project on a double scrim, and I include beams and graphics for contrast with the lumias.
Sounds awesome! We can set that up in Club-SELEM if you want, or in the back-stage area (behind the main curtain) where we will have all the other lumia stuff set up. Your call.

Note: We need to swap the Lumia demo with the DMX primer. There is a conflict with some of Swamidog's shows. DZ, can you update your master schedule to reflect this? (When I get to the venue, I will have a pad of large (2 ft x 3 ft) sheets of paper that we can write everything on and post around the venue...

OK - you heard it here first! We're going to hold you to that promise now...

Aaron (allthatwhichis) often sets up a live broadcast via his Ustream.com account. Hopefully he will be able to do that again this year.

Thanks again for handling this, Chris! It's a *huge* help!

I'm staying there. I don't know if anyone else is though. (Well, besides you of course!)

Ann (the innkeeper) is pretty cool about that; she will normally serve breakfast whenever you want it. (There are only 5 rooms, so even with a full house that's only 10 people tops.)

That being said, I usually shoot for breakfast between 8:15 and 8:30 in the morning. That gets me out the door by 9, so I have a little time to organize things at the venue before everyone else shows up at 10 AM.

What day and time will you be arriving in Newton, Chris?

    Adam

No Problem! I enjoy it. It's my little way of contributing. Don't forget to bring the lanyards and clear pouches.
