    Default Ca$io Optics

Doing a brief search brought up a little about the dichros but, I picked up a couple of these with my order from DTR 'cause they were cheap.

However.... my dumb ass has no idea of what is usable in this little assembly for any other purpose. Front surface mirror I know but, anything else? Or is this unit just something to satisfy the burning need to dissect something? LOL

(Surprising how large these units are!)

    ... I'm using the lenses for focussing LED's or collimating+focussing diode-lasers ...

There are 2 usable dichros in there, type I and type II as Dan Briggs referred to them when he did the testing.

Here are the results of his testing:

    Type I:

    Pass: Blue,Red
    Reflect: Green

    Tests:
    Pass 473nm: ~95%
    Pass 640nm: ~96%
    Reflect 532nm: ~95%

All tests performed at 45˚ angle of incidence.

    Type II:

    Pass: Blue
    Reflect: Red, Green

    Tests:
    Pass 473nm: ~96%
    Reflect 640nm: ~98.5%
    Reflect 532nm: ~90%

All tests performed at 45˚ angle of incidence.

You are using Bonetti's defense against me, ah?

I thought it fitting, considering the rocky terrain.

No rush. I'm just curious as I haven't really worked with lenses for diodes yet and didn't know if they were actually of any use.

    (Thanks Adam!)

... I've modified some of the Ca$ios to 'lampless', so I can inssert any light source like white 5Watt-LED's for BW operation (data-beamer or 3D-scanning) or a BluRay-UV-diodelaser or a 9Watt-405nm-LED for UV-resin 3D-printing ...

I used the type II for combining in my RB module and the type I for adding the green and they are outstanding. There are also some very efficient thin broadband mirrors that I believe are hard dielectric coatings, not aluminum - that will handle high power and are fairly easy to cut.
