I look forward to seeing your handywork in action.

    Hi Rob

To avoid going off topic in this thread I have started another thread under 'Advanced Technical Discussion' named...

Using Camera Filters for Laser Apertures

This is coming together very nicely, well done all, and a big thanks to Fluff for sorting out the venue.

I love Rob's itinerary - 13+ hours for lasers, and 15 minutes for a meal (presumably and soley to prevent anyone from passing out, and missing anything)

Unfortunately, I'm still unable to commit as we have had a prior on the 12th of August in another part of the country, but I'm still trying to work round it. It's looking like if I can make it at all, it'll be just for the evening session... but then, some photons is better than no photons

Edit: Forgot to say that I'll hopefully be bringing a 1.5 or 3watt 660nm laser (with good beam profile) for you guys to look at...

    Fluff
Are ther facilities on site for making tea/coffee as I know I cant go all day without some liquid refreshment. If there isnt I could deffo bring 2 kettles and some other brew making parephenalia.
I would love to have a beer or two but playing with high volts, powewrful lasers and driving home dont really go together with a few jars - so I will stick to my coffee with maybe a beer with my food only.

Simon - I wiould be interested to see your mega 660nm diodes so hope you do make it - plus it would be good to see you again. Hope you work something out even if it is just for the evening time.

I'm not tryin' to barge into the UK meet thread from 'round the pond, but 1500mW or 3000mW 660nM-- What kind of laser is that exactly? Any pics?

@Rob: I'm pulling out all the stops to get there, would be gutted if I can't make it at all as it'll be good to catch up with you guys again.

    @steve-o:
Sorry, no pics yet as I only have the prototype and she really isn't pretty
More info to follow asap, just waiting for some optical components to be made. These have caused some big, unfortunate and expensive delays

Default Da countdown is on !

    Hey Guys
Glad to see it looks like our august meet will go ahead , i am planning to go via Alton Towers so its certainly going to be a FUN weekend for me !!

After reading the problems over the venue and also the $700 bill they are having to host the meet across the water i think we all owe mark /fluff a debt of ingratitude for finding /allowing use of a venue

Lets hope a pile of us can turn up and have a great day

My aims for the day are hopefully to see a decent powered RGB in action and see how everyones building their kit and hopefully there will be a few software gurus around who can answer a few questions on frame building / creation of images as i simply dont seem to be getting anywhere fast with it
