    Default Goldenstarlasers-help!

    Hi everyone,

Just recieved my 2x S-rgb2000 and pangolin QS-FB3. Having problems getting an output from lasers

Im using windows 7, and when i was installing the fb3 driver, pangolin told me to choose a 64bit driver (not windows7 64bit). I think this is where im going wrong?

Also i cant get any output from the laser itself stand alone. No auto, have played with all the address pins etc. Dont have a dmx controller available at the moment to try that.

Finally, my lasers never came with the keys for the safety lock, ive manage to pick one the locks with an old key. Can someone please tell me what there exact function is as i presumed it stopped the laser from powering up, like a kill switch. Does it stop it from projecting?

If it helps, my fb3 is constant orange, then flashes red when i plug in laser to fb3.

    HELP!!!
    Dan

Dan, your best bet is to ask Winni directly and I'm sure she can help with the key issue.

Flashing red on the FB3 means it is outputting signal. That's a pulsing sort of flash.

You are using Bonetti's defense against me, ah?

I thought it fitting, considering the rocky terrain.

    Hi Dan,

SRGB lasers have 2 safety features.
    1) key+ 9pin connector. Laser won't output if they are not both connected. You can Bypass it if you open the laser. You can connect the 2 wires together, or follow the wires to the board, and put a jumper on the pins to short them out.

    2) The circuit board has a feature, that disables output if the output size is smaller then 10%. So if you output a frame at less then 10% of the full scannig size, it will stop the output. This can also be bypassed, if you want to do single beams.

    Thanks everyone for there help.

Im already awaiting reply from Winnie. Im gonna open up the lasers and short the lock. But what should the address pins be set to. Normally pin ten is a function button.

    Thanks again everyone!

For reference, I get auto with dip 1 up, 9/10 up, all the rest down. I'm almost 100% on that, I'll double check when I get home tomorrow if you haven't worked it out with Winni yet. (dip 2 up just loads another auto program bank) Defeat key and interlock with power on and it starts doing it's thing. (with one of Goldenstar's S-RGB2500 projectors)

    Hi everybody,

Just want to let everyone know the problem has been resolved. Winnie is sending me the keys and 9pin adapters. She did so kindly with no hesitation.

At the time i didnt know the 9pin was part of the safety loop and i was freaking out a little bit!

Problem solved, thanks for the help
