    that is pretty cool. I have seen similar things but that one is much bigger.

    The honey comb is helping to create a 'Laminar Flow' http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laminar_flow .

    And yea those ultrasonic things would work great! You could also use very high pressure water and a very small nozzle to create a mist, like those out door cooling misters.

    this would be a fun project.

    I agree about the air blower thing. Very high pressure jets or blades of air will train nearby air to run with them, increasing the mass of moving air. Fans would cause turbulence and loss of fog by condensation, either from fog machines or from misters, but a high pressure airflow could make a very well formed curtain of foggy air, and I think it might be almost free of turbulence too, but I haven't seen it done, so I don't know how good it can get.
