Default Aluminum Anodizing Service from Alpha Metal

Hello folks, for anyone who is interested in having Aluminum anodized, I sent a batch to Alpha Metal Finishing in Dexter, MI. I must say, I was very pleased with thier prompt service and quick turnaround. I paid for next day shipping both ways, sent them 56 pieces to anodize on a wednesday and it was back at my door on monday! And the price was quite reasonable I though ($275). Here is thier web site: www.alphametal.com Now the fun of getting it all put back together!

Hey Lightglow, anodizing is a bit different than painting. Heck I could have just painted the parts in my garage. However the paint would flake off very easily. Anodizing, the way I understand it, is similar to electro-plating. It is submerged in a sulfuric acid and an electrical current passed through it. Then it can be dyed. In my case, I had all the part blackened. It will not chip or fade. It can be worn off, but it is still alot better than paint.
