Default For the sound/mic exeprts question

Does standard foam reduce wind sound alot whgen recording with a microphone?

i have a lazer tag set for lazer tag outdoors and i use radios to communicate with my teams. those radios have a headset with a inline mic. but i hear alot wind when they speak and sometimes i cant even understand them.

what about i cover the microphone with a earbud foam?
    like this:

would that be a good idea for wind sound reduction or not?
    thanks.

    Hi,

That may well help with both wind noise and "breath" noise - Not sure about the earbud foam earpieces but in theory they should be fairly acoustically transparent so could work.

Other option would be to get some windshields designed for microphones (depending upon the size of the mic) such as these http://www.dv247.com/microphones/dpa...-5-pack--31576 - these may be a bit small for your application but there are others on the web/ebay/amazon which would do the job.

they are not small they are too big.
the microphone line-in is in the cable.

i also saw adhesive tape but i guess the adhesive sticky part will block the mic.
