Yes, the 3D dot grid was quite amazing, it played funny tricks on your brain. It really did look as though it was floating through mid air at times![]()

It took me ages to get a natural looking perspective of the array but when you get it right you can tell immediately - it was so good to see it projected on your laser though Jem - it was the first time I'd seen it at that scale and I was very pleased with the effect. It almost made me fall over as I walked past, so I think I'll include more of this kind of effect in my shows in the future.
uhm... uh.... 3d organic jellyfish... something something... darkside!
suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.
That's wild, swami. Reminds me, I really need to go analog.
Attached is a Beyond abstract I made (synth image really). I copied off a gif I saw online. The concept is that each dot is only moving along a straight line. It seemed like it would be simple to make, but some of the math was tricky.
It looks like this:

lovely, i've seen that animated gif on imagur. i'll bet it's excellent as laser projection. unfortunately, i can't load beyond sequence files.
my abstract isn't actually analog. i made it in LSX. i created a simple lissajous effect, cloned it 11 times on the Y-axis, and then added some world move/rotation effects and some post rendering intensity modulation.

yeah.. it's actually a pretty a pretty simple way to make 3d organic abstracts. let me know if you get stuck and i'll give you a hand.
analog color makes *all* the difference. especially when you're doing post modulation intensity effects. hint: set phase to 0,0 and and use a sine wave to control the frequency. try starting with 3 min and 6 max.
