    Default Idol Lasers

So, rather than ask the usual question of who did the lasers on the American Idol finale, I'll ask a more sophisticated question. I'm guessing OPSL but, was that green 520? Sure didn't look like 532.

It looked like 532 to me, and my guess would be Lightwave probably set that up...

I figured it was most likely Lightwave. The overall beam quaility and the nature of the event led me to think it was probably OPSL. I'm sure the price of the equipment used was unfathomable. The green though, just appeared "different". I didn't DVR it so, I can't go back at watch i again but, particularly during the J Lo and Pitbull number it was noticible. During Psy's tune, they could have just as easily not used lasers since they were so washed out by all the moving heads. Even on TV it wasn't "all that" so, in person it must have been hardly visible.

..it's been a while since 'Lightline' over in Eurolandia, there, made a post about this on ILDA-lists.. I'd (assume) they're shipping, altho... Cohr seems to 'imply'-otherwise (?) http://www.coherent.com/products/?18...0-nm-to-577-nm - ('tenative'??..) Anyhoo, seem to remember seeing at least one Euro-sho-shot with (purportedly..) the 514s, and, yeah - it was *definitely* a different look / feel.. Like the 'good ol' back-breakin' 30W Ar days, lol..

..Also, 'Lightwave' does not get *all* the gigs in the werld.. I know they'd like-to, but.. sorry, fellas, ya carn't haeve em' oll... Although, they do have more lasers than Heysoos...

..Do have to wonder, tho.. if they're 'migrating' all-over to OPS-rigs - where are all their monster-arsenal of billion-diode '@rtcos'-boxes going? Can't imagine Arc would 'want them back'... I mean, prolly not gonna be too-easy to hawk a 'used $400K projector'.. ...now only $279,000., while supplies-last!!

1030 nm is readily available from Certain Nd doped laser crystals. Just because it is not being made into cheap Chinese lasers, does not mean you cant get 515.

Just worked on one yesterday. Beautiful color compared to 532.
