    Default Form Labs Form1 3D Printer - XY Galvos + 405nm laser

    Check it out:

This style 3d printer on the hobby side of things usually uses a video projector. This one uses XY galvos and a violet laser. Neato.

... the SLA-methode with galvos can scan bigger areas with higher pixel-counts than common DLP-beamers have (800x600 to 1920x1024 pix), but with the use of UV-modified DLP-projectors and reducing lenses you can print with much higher resolutions, not achievable with (affordable) laser-scanning.

Here some samples of UV-DLP-prints with accuracies of 50 and 10 microns resolution in XY and layer-height with a setup that can be assembled for less than 200 USD: http://forums.reprap.org/read.php?27...881#msg-179881

Zooming in on the pic http://bunniefoo.com/form1/f1td-elec-overview.jpg Looks like the form1 has gone with PT galvos
