Default Just got some for my XY laser scanner and VERY confused

So I am very exited I just got a bunch of stuff to make my XY laser scanner. I thought maybe after seeing it I would know better what I am doing but not so much. Some stuff defiantly does make more sense but here are pictures of what I got.

Here are my galvos, you can see the wires coming off of them that I plugged into this

I am almost positive that the wires from the galvos are supposed to plug into here so thats what I did.

Now I am not too sure about this one at all, I think this might be an amplifier or something. So I plugged the amplifier into the same thing I plugged the galvos into. (Makes sense I would think)

Now here are a few wires I got and have no idea where they plug into

Here is the DAC (I believe) so I plugged the DB25 into it because it fit but I am confused because it also came with a usb. So am I supposed to plug the usb into my computer or the DB25? I have no idea.

Now here is the side that the usb plugs into but why does it have an rj45 connector? why would I ever need to plug in a rj45 connector? Also I never got a 5V DC power connector so I assume I will have to buy one of those right?

And then Theres this. The 50mw laser....... question is how do I plug it in?

This is what is connected to the 50mw laser

Now for my 100mw laser. I see the laser, I see what I assume is the power supply for it. But then there are just 2 wires that I need to connect to something. You cant really see in the picture too well but thats what the blurry thing is in front.

I know I have a lot of questions but I would really appreciate if some people can answer just some of them.

    Thanks again

DB25 goes to the galvo amps and laser. Google "ILDA Connector" for info and see how far that gets you.
    USB goes to your computer.
RJ45 is another way of hooking to your scanner amps and laser but it is non-standard. You can ignore it.

Sorry if I didn't answer all of your questions but that might clue you in.

The amp is that thing that I thought was the amp right? cause that dosent have a DB25 connection. It only has what is shown in the picture.

There are two amps. One for each galvo. They are the things with the blue circuit board. One is the X amp. The other is the Y amp. Check the ILDA connector spec like I mentioned. It tells which DB25 pins go to which amp. You will have to fabricate yourself a connector and wiring.

Did you get any paperwork with it? For pinouts?

Ok I see, thanks for clearing that up. What is that thing that I thought was the amp?

Google says: Try here for 25 Pin ILDA Pinout:

    http://www.laserfx.com/Backstage.Las.../Pinouts9.html

You will need a female 25 pin D style connector with solder or crimp pins. You can get it at radio shack.

    Like this one ... http://www.radioshack.com/product/in...tent=CT2032231

Except that one pictured is a solder cup and not crimp pins... but the catalog entry is for crimp pins.

You connect your X Galvo Circuit Board and the Y Galvo Circuit Board and the Laser(s) Modulation inputs to it. Then... your iShow connects to the DB25 connector.

Once you get those hooked up you will need to hook up power to your Galvo power supply and to your Laser(s). You will need to find the specifications to find out what power you hook up to it.

I do not think there is an exact tutorial.

You should try to find some pinouts for your equipment. Try emailing the people you bought them from. They might have a manual or document pages.

Here is what you need to do:

    1) Identify your input on your X amplifier (the one connected to the galvo/mirror that goes left to right). These will probably be labeled + - and Ground. Those go to the X+ X- and Ground on the ILDA connector.
    2) Identify your input on your Y amplifier (the one connector to the galvo/mirror that goes up and down). Those go to the Y+ Y- and Ground on the ILDA connector.
    3) Identify your modulation input on your laser. It will be + and - or ground. The + goes to the ILDA connector I+ or R+ or G+ or B+ and the - or ground goes to Ground on the ILDA connector.
