Default Hi All, Newbie question, any help would be greatly appreciated

    Hi,

Sorry to have my first post be in a new thread but Im desperate for some guidance. I am looking to build a laser to project my very simple logo through a diffraction grating so my single colored logo is scattered all over the back of a 10' wide wall. Can anyone here steer me in the right direction to get this done? Any help would be immensely appreciated.

    Thank you,

    Dan

If you're needing a diffraction grating making I suggest you start here http://www.triple-take.com/home.html

You'll need to speak to Dinesh or joy.

I can't imagine a 'one off' being particularly cheap though.

    Cheers

If you can scan your logo - throw the diffraction grating of choice after the scanner. If you want to brute force the logo use a beam expander to get it to the correct diameter - if the logo is significantly rectangular build up a beam expander with cylindrical lenses for efficiency. Or use a lumia wheel with a single "rippled" surface and focus the laser on the single "rippled" surface to get as close to a point source as possible. If this is for a serious marketing campaign with $$$ budgeted talk to DSLI_jon - he's got something new that's impressive and would be perfect.

i would certainly suggest a system using using a set of galvo scanners with a diffraction grating scan through.

alternatively, it would be pretty trivial to laser/waterjet cut a gobo that you can shine your lasers through.

suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.
