Default Anyone know where I can find a CDRH compliant lumia projector?

I'm working on a disco-themed nightclub, and I'd really like to liven up some of the interior space with a couple lumias (while this would probably be more suitable for a 60's themed club, I just really like the effect). I've seen them in other clubs, just not sure if there are any 'legal' varieties in the USA.

Lumias are a tough animal. Normally with galvos, you have a projection zone. That projection zone is based on the angular deflection capablilties of the galvos. Everything can be predetermined and predicted (to a degree). With lumias, they are not as predictable. Even though they can diffuse and scatter laser light everywhere, thus lowering MPE, there can still be hot spots and danger zones. I have never applied for a CDRH varience but I imagine it would probably be pretty hard to get one for a lumia of any real power. I suppose zone masking could be done at the output.... Good luck!

Ok, I screwed up. I don't mean 'projector' in the usual laser sense, I mean projector as in projecting light. I know Chauvet makes one, just trying to figure out if I have other options.

    Eric,

Take a look at the American DJ "Hypnotic RGB". I've seen this unit up close and it's a nice projector, DMX support and CDRH compliant. To the best of my knowledge, it's the only legal RGB lumia projector available.

I spoke to this guy a week or two ago on this very subject http://www.laserspectacles.com/produ...mia-projector/ and he is a member of the forum, though I can't recall his forum name. His projector is certified. I'm sure he can give you some great info or maybe he'll see this and chime in.

I was also going to say the Chauvet or American DJ units.

(If I recall correctly....) There is also a member, clickamouse, that has been doing large installs of lumia projectors as an art piece in either a museum or mall or something like that who may be able to provide further info.
